Sorry to argue here but it depends. if they are all playing in Lan or if they are trying to join an internet game. For internet play with your 2+ computers. If your not using port fowarding and your router seem to accept the convientional NAT transversal , then indeed you do not need to set different port. BUT if you set port fowarding for all the machine, you MUST set them on different port with ImpulseReactorOptions.exe in the Demigod folder. You cant foward

Guys at release day there will surely be a mega pach to the game addressing most balance / character malfunction to the game. Have confidence. I dont think they will release a semi-broken game. P.S its not that broken. the word I used is a bit strong here but its the only english word thats came to my french head :)

Look at your favor point and the favor point of Flurus who is currently top. The ranking is not based only on victory / defeat. Its also based on how well you play in-game. flag captured/ $ spent on citadel etc.

are you able to join game without the router? If not it may be something related to your computer. If its routerbase. I know a bit your dir-655. Normally it should work with firmware 1.11 Try to hard reset it. (its more than just factory default)

A Crossfire configuration can get a flickering water on the map Cataract Happen sometime on a 3870X2 and a 4870X2. Only saw Cataract water affected so far. An ALT-Tab resolve the isuue normally The flickering is verry minor and could even get not notice by some users.
