You think a person's level of expertise or experience doesn't matter? If someone has been playing strategy games for 20 years, wouldn't you trust their opinion more than a guy who has never played one before? If a reviewer has a degree in mathematics, would his or her opinion on the stats and balance of a game not be worth more than someone who is awful at math?

It'd be so cool if the game would appropriately pick from a huge list of landmarks and adjectives to automatically name a region of the map. Stardock, you gotta make this happen! Just imagine, the game detects a mountain range with a river in between and intelligently picks from the list to name it something like: "The Gleaming Shards"

This is the very same reason I bought Galactic Civilizations II without knowing much about it. It caught my interest, I only had to read a few blog posts and forum threads and I said to myself "yup, these guys have earned my money". EDIT: Oh and if you didn't figure it out already, I didn't regret it. GalCiv2 turned out to be one of the best 4x games ever.

First of all, let me just say that the game looks phenomenal and there's a very good chance you'll be receiving a paypal payment from me in the near future. The reason I made this thread was because I am happy that there are no preorder bonuses for this game. No exclusive items, or trinkets, or skins, or armor, or anything. Thank you!
