That was last updated in January of '09, but is right about most of the stuff. Some of the attack bonuses have been changed I think, and there's obviously been new ships and stuff added, so I would ignore the chart on there, but the rest is pretty timeless stuff. In there, they mention the trouble with figuring out mitigation, but show how to figure out stuff anyhow.

leave on auto attack and set the attack range to local. this is good because they will contribute dps as well, but you will have to tell them to move if you want them to chase something or if they're in a danger zone. you could also then have them follow a capital ship or something, though in my experience they sometimes stop following.

and for shield mitigation, no one is really sure at what point the reduction occurs. So, you cant make a single formula that takes in damage and calculates the exact damage sustained. I'm pretty sure the reason no one has figured this out has to do with the way mitigation increases per hit combined with in-combat regeneration... actually... couldnt you mod a ship to start with maxed out mitigation and shut off shield and hp regeneration on a ship? make sure the da

As someone who does not play MP but has considered it, I will state that your win/loss record means absolutely nothing to me. My own record, however, does weigh in alot on such a decision.

ok, so... for those who claim it to be overpowered... If there was a warning or something that would have given Dirty and the .com guy a chance to get their fleet out of the way... what good would wail be? laying such a trap is the whole point of the ability . now, if you feel it was overpowered, I could understand an argument for lowering the population to damage ratio, but a warning makes the whole thing useless. I'm quite annoyed with windowed mode at the moment... everytime I launch the game, it puts it way off to the side where it's difficult to watch the intro. if I try to move the window to the right spot, it cancels the intro. If I put the game on non-windowed, it causes the game to crash after some random amount of time.

If you are vasari you can use a kostura cannon to jump directly to the high population planet without moving through any of the adjacent gravity wells wail threatens
actually.... wouldnt this just be adding another wail target directly to your kosutra? I'm pretty sure that is the worst possible move you can make.... unless it doesnt carry over the temporary phase lane?

the other adjudicator idea i had once, but had no idea how to make it work, was that if you had multiple adjudicators (call them A, B, and C) in a well maybe you could have some of the guns from C that aren't shooting at targets shoot at B, and this 'supercharges' B to do more damage. Then you have A on the other side of B and it does the same thing. This would be pretty unique, i think.

lets put it like this: there are no foreseeable plans from Intel or AMD to make 128 bit CPUs, so if windows 8 was 128 bit, no one could run it :)
.. That... That.. Advent damage output would probably nearly double
well, that's why it might be good to make it an activated ability, but my aim was that it wouldn't be overpowered because your basically making up for the fact that some of your banks arent firing. This was sort of an idea of mine to fix adjudicators as well, an ability that would just switch them from single target, 5x the power, 5x

And why on earth would 128 bit be happening anytime in the foreseeable future? 64 bit happened because 32 bit bumped up against the 4 GB ram limit. 64 bit's limit is 16 exabytes. Wake me up when desktop computers are pushing 100 terabytes of ram and maybe I'll start to be worried, but then I'll remember that petabytes are before exabytes and I'll go back to not giving a damn.
