So, I've seen a number of posts about how much people don't like certain aspects of the AI, but I just had a really great game with the AI the other day... I'm not trying to say the other posts are in error, but I would like to point out some of the golden nuggets. Please feel free to include any good/smart things you've seen the AI do... maybe the devs can get these types of things to happen more often.... Starting with the background on my recent match So, I

it would be an easy mod... just replace the background files with much dimmer grey and white nebulae pictures and then remove all objects from every map... done
Speaking of the speed of light you can actually go faster then the speed of light
note to self: ignore the above quote and move along... where's the face palm icon?! what i mean is, why make up some new tech when there's already a tech (the only one, in fact) that has to do with exploration? and yes... it is just you [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]

No Fury of the Unity only works in culture... but I did forget that the loyalists have another tech that is military called Ancient Retribution, and that adds: 10% dmg, 5% range, 2% mitigation all of the time . So, the final tally, if you have AR, the tier 6 shield tech, DE, and FU (heh) is: +45% dmg, +20% phase missile block, +12% mitigation, +5% range.... if in culture and hit by a DE ... without the DE, but still in cul

I haven't noticed that either, so I'm inclined to not believe you just on your word, but I will investigate it because of your word. Anyhow, gravity would be: stars orbit each other planets orbit stars moons (

You don't normally get any damage bonus in culture (unless you're Vasari). I believe what the tech does is adds that affect to your culture. After you take that tech, you do 5/10% more damage while in your culture (depending on the level you have). It's good, but comes too late to be of any real use. And I think it's in the wrong tree really... It should be military. Anyhow, With this and grabbing the deliverance engine, you can do something

people and their selective 'realisim' demands... bah! the game doesnt have gravity (including ship orbits, planet orbits, and star orbits), the scales are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off, there's green stars, there are sound effects, there's colored nebulae in the background, apparently wind in space (referring to the smoke stacks on refineries blowing over a bit), building something involves spitting junk at a holographic projection which makes it

really, searching for artifacts should be free/automatic after a certain amount of time. and you should be guaranteed to get something, then we can add in a whole bunch more negative planetary affects. It's such an underused part of the game that doesn't have to be.

you know this is like a rant due to superweapon limits, yeah? I mean, why stop with limiting frigates? if you have more planets than I do, you get more income and can buy more ships and more starbases. I propose you start the game with a handful of credits, metal and crystal, and do not generate more. Then, you get 5 of each ship type to start and cannot build more, so that it is fair. oh, and additional planets would only allow you to setup more research stations and imbalanc
