I finished the map, and it didn't load, it minidumped. To be more specific, it was two systems the max distance from each other (One system in each corner of the map), three players in each system clustered at one end, each player was given a terran world, to the left or right of them one ice planet and one volcanic planet, and a desert world. The 3 desert worlds ( for each player) connected to an asteroid, which connected to the star. From the star it connects to a ter

I just upgraded my system and started out fresh. 2.4 quad, 750i mobo, dual 9600 gt oc sli, 320 gb hdd, 4 gb ram, windows 32bit. I of course have all of the up to date drivers and have added soase and entrenchment to my firewall exemptions. So I have fresh patched unmodded sins + entrenchment. I believe I can play single player, I can click multi-player and select a map and setting, as soon as I hit create, it forces a window and a minidump is created(And makes the error sou

Thanks for the support guys, but yes I do agree, they don't needed to be booted, just balanced and capped, and have a sweeping unit.

Alright, I'm pretty annoyed at this point. First I tried the Vasari and the Ruiner deploys mines automatically (optional), Next I tried TEC which deploys in fields of 10, Lastly I did the Advent whom have their Strike craft carriers and hangars use them instead of anima (fgt + bmbr). I like the way the TEC have it since it makes the most sense by making actual fields in stead of singles or 2 at a time, but my main complaint is probably what others have noti

When you capture their world, it has "plundered booty", a permanent +3.5 credits/sec I'm sure they have some funds, and if they were actually powerful, the bids to pass the bounty on alone could fund new forces. Not to mention they harass trade ports and trade ships for a living. And before someone says crystal and metal is an issue, who the hell do you think owns the black market?

Something that would make pirates more challenging... A) shields + shield mitigation B)Carriers + strike craft C) 1 Cap ship at elevated, 2 at high, and 3 at Severe D) hundreds of forces at their homeworld with hangar defenses an inhibitor and mines :P.(Sorta like 7ds)(As to make it obvious that if you want them gone you're going to need to have a lot of spare forces to defend yourself) For this to be balanced, it would have to take longer for them to i

I think Sins is an excellent game, it's $10 cheaper than most games and I played it for more than a yr and it still isn't boring as most games tend to be after 1-2 weeks. The problem I see with the game isn't the hardcoding, but the fact that mods have to be remade with almost every patch. I know this is pretty unavoidable since key files are changed, but many good mods have died or can never keep up with the patches =/. Overall I like the micro expansions, very cheap compared to what yo

I've had this problem too. I only notice it vs the hard bots on large-Huge maps. They usually give up after you have destroyed or damaged structures around their homeworld like the firgate and capital ship factories. I have a theory though, on hard they usually research up to 56-75% fleet upkeep, once you start destroying worlds and trade centers their income may go down to - which I would assume, maybe causes them to surrender. You also have to consider if you are using a novalith again

A lot of the implimencations your adding will definantly keep me coming back here even if I get bored of vanilla sins, This may be a little over the top but, Do you think once a ships shields go down and its basically just mitigation stopping it from being ripped apart, could ships take area specific damage? Like the engines are damaged and for a set time the ships speed is reduced or some of its weapons are damaged or disabled. I mean you couldn't abuse it since ships are ranged from massive to

Well if you use windows xp it should be in C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy , Make sure you named the map and it's in there. If so, also make sure you defined how many players and its reccomended game type so you know if it will appear under small, medium or Large maps. Hopefully that helps.

Well most people do bash the advent super weapon, but paired with eyes of the converted it works as a very effective early warning system and a weak planet capturer. Anyway a new super weapon for the Xin, I'd like it to be different from the ones everyone has now. Hows about something that disables all ships in orbit for a set time? Leaving a heavily defended planet vulnerable for a short period of time giving the firing empire an edge in combat or time for a joint strike on an empire focused on

I have one question about the galaxy forge. In the custom map maker that comes with sins you could alter the nuetral colony severity with a slider bar. For example the more to the right the bar was, the more things neutral colonies had, like extra ships and gauss turrets ect... How can I alter that with galaxy forge? I like having the neutral colonies more seemingly realistic in the fact that they can at least fight back rather than getting run over in 10 seconds, plus it's good xp for your star
