I find playing a good all around game results in you earning less favor than focusing on one or two things. For example investing a bit in your base, focusing a bit on heroes, a bit on buildings, and investing partially in your hero will net you very few favor titles. Where focusing exclusively on one or two activities (do nothing but buy for your own hero and kill enemy heroes) will net you titles at the end. Each title seems to have a favor value. What I know so fa
quoting postfavor whores You heard it here first folks! Remember this phrase! I'm not so sure about the favour system working as it should right now. Currently it just hands out a load of stuff each game. I am sitting on around 4k favour points at the moment if I remember correctly. I thought the way it was supposed to work was, you unlocked the achievements, and then you had favour points

I think the favor system in this game is pretty clever. Normally something like this is horrible, players who play for a long time get a big advantage over newbies. However, this system is implemented in a way where a player can be quickly up to par in about 500 favor and if they make a mistake 1-2 quick games can fix it. At the same time it encourages players to stick around to get their favor. It takes the hook of a leveling system and minimizes the downside. <p
How about giving War Score for destroying enemy buildings, and giving some instant War Score for capturing an enemy flag (the amount could be based on the time elapsed), not just for holding it. That way a skilled team could turn the tide of a losing battle by a well organized offensive.
I like the concept of the war score system. However, I don't think capturing flags should give score. Holding them would be m

Two favor items stick out as much better than the others. The generals have a general specific wand which heals the user and all units around him for 1500 health. It has either a 30 or 45 second cooldown. It looks like a red wand of speed. Everyone has access to a red healing potion that heals for 800. It isn't as good as the wand, but it is still pretty darn good. These items stick out as far more powerful than the other items available through favor

I think the best idea was restricting him so he cannot damage buildings while in last stand. The problem is buildings cannot defend themselves against last stand. A player can try to run away and hide. You citadel can't kite and the damage is somewhat permanent (he does a lot of damage in last stand, enough so to kill a tower, or so much that your citadel won't fully recover before his next last stand rush.) I could see this being a really nasty strategy that has no re

For example in W3, the contrast beetween green terrain and flashy unit is important.
It's very stupid and detrimental to the development of this game when people flat out reject things from DotA simply because they are from DotA. This game is based on DotA, and DotA is a very, very successful and popular mod. Get over it. This game's success can probably be measured by how well it approximates DotA's gameplay. Simple as that. As for item upgrades as opposed to reci

The negative health potion is a bonus, although, it would be nice if it acted as a regular health potion for friendly demigods. That line is really about the health regen and the vampic aura it eventually leads to. I am personally finding Erebus to be an absolute beast. You are just focusing on the wrong skills. You don't level mist past 2, you don't level mass charm past 1 because it gets worse with level (you don't care about the grunt stun, you shred grunts with a
Look at a game like DoW, however, which is a lot more popular than Age of Empires 3. It has not been played at WCG and likely will never be because the game design downplays micro skill and resource management.
Actually, DoW was played in the WCG for at least one year. The problem was they completely dropped the balance ball at one point and never got it back. The game was never in the WCG since.
Coming from someone who wants to keep the old comic proportions of RTS that's a little hypocritical, don't you think?
Those proportions serve a very good purpose, unit identification. I can play Starcraft and spot most units in seconds, I can play DoW and spot the heroes in seconds (and the big units are still much larger than them.) I can play warcraft 3 or DotA and instantly recognize the heroes. The

Daton, you are just arguing because you are afraid to change the status quo. Sense of scale is overrated and it could be easily justified by saying that they are demigod's they are bigger than everyone else. If you make regulas and the vampire 10% bigger you can also make the rook 10% bigger. Another alternative would be large pillars of light coming out of each demigod in their team's color, so your eyes are directed to them. Poor demigod visibility is not a game fe

So far the game looks great and looks like a lot of very nice features will come. I enjoy the overall design. One thing I dislike is the demigod visibility. This game has a lot of visual clutter. Units and demigods are rather small in comparison to Warcraft 3 models. I find losing a demigod in the visual clutter can be quite easy (some obviously more so than others.) This is a major problem for general Demigods and I think an overall
