I would check your sound drivers. There are no known sound problems with Demigod.
My sound drivers are up to date, and this only happens in demigod. In fact, I even recorded a video and other people on other machines viewing it heard the same sound crackling.
xclavex
Now I'm getting worried, will they be able to fix the sound crackling that occurs after playing for awhile? This almost screams of a memory leak somewhere.
Ive got same kind of set up vista64, sb X-fi, here are the latest drivers http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=1&CatName=Sound+Blaster&subCatID=208&subCatName=X-Fi&prodID=14066&prodName=X-Fi+XtremeMusic can try if they help i did have this problem but have got rid of it
I think I have those, but will give them another try anyway.
Try turning your speakers/headphones down to 50% volume instead of 100%, increase the windows volume to compensate
That wouldn't account for the sound skipping... My system runs the game just fine (Quad core, geforce 260 gtx, 4 gigs ram, vista64, X-Fi Extreme Music sound card...) It is very obviously a problem with the game being in beta, but I'm wondering if it will be fixed. I do
It's still there, where after playing for awhile the sound starts popping and has strange glitching sounds to it. It is very irritating and has been a problem at least since I first started playing beta 2A. Each time they release a new beta, I keep hoping that it gets fixed, but the problem still persists. I am starting to get worried...
IIRC they mentioned that there's an issue in the creep AI in this build--after attacking demigods, creeps get stuck sometime. Is it that, or is it something more insidious?
Well they don't exactly get stuck, they just stop advancing on their own. However, if and when a demigod or enemy appears near them, they all mob on it until it is dead, then they stay wherever they happen to stop...rinse and repeat. I act
I've noticed that angels tend to just hover around and stay in one spot, defending completely...and the only way to kill them seems to be to lead them back into your towers blasts. This makes a game come to a complete stalemate for all eternity because the moment you try and make a move on the enemy base, you get swarmed by a flock of angels that do WHOPLOADS of damage really fast. Even the AI couldn't escape back and I couldn't get through. Anybody else see this?
Yup, same problem for me, except I am using an X-Fi soundcard. I was hoping this update would fix it, but it unfortuneately did not. Oh well, hope they fix it soon.
Yeah, it's important to note that I am using an X-Fi as well with the latest drivers and I'm having the same problem that realtek users are having. I'm not too worried though considering it's just a beta, but I'm here to help let the devs know anyway! :D
This sound issue is absolutely annoying the piss out of me too. The sounds also seem to repeat and stutter slightly when a bunch of things happen on the screen at once. Early in a match the sound is fine, but as the game gets more hectic the sound starts to stutter and get worse over time (memory leak maybe?). This does not happen in any of my other 3 million games I have, just this one. What has me concerned is that only a few of us are reporting the problem, but the fact it only occurs
xclavex, I have the same sound issue. Xi-Fi on Vista.
Well at least now I know I'm not going crazy. Let's hope that the dev team can implement a compatibility fix!
While the game is fun, I find the static/popping sound issue that occurs whenever there is a lot going on at one time to be more than a little distracting/irritating. This doesn't happen in any other games on my system, and all drivers for all hardware are up to date. I realize this game is only in beta form and so I can only HOPE it gets fixed in time for when the game is released. Anyway, that is some of my feedback for the moment.
Anybody have a similar problem? Are you by any chance utilizing onboard (Realtek) sound? I recently upgraded my mobo, and tried out the onboard. I had the same problem that you are reporting. I reverted to my venerable old Soundblaster 2, and the problems went away.
No, I am using an X-Fi soundcard with the latest drivers installed.

Wow, several days and not one reply on what to do? Him and I tried Hamachi, but he never saw my game nor I saw his. I don't know what to do.
Every single time my friend and I connect to play, we are able to play for about...30 minutes or so (random amount of time really but never longer than an hour) before the game quits and gives us both "victory" messages and tells my friend and I that the other player disconnected. Why does it do this? I cannot understand what is going wrong. It also seems to be worse since the new 1.05 patch has been released.
