I'll try that and see if it works. Thanks for the suggestion. Update: Establishing a caravan trade route did not change the lack of status change re: Tar-tarakeet Sovereign. I went ahead without their reinforcements and was able to finish the campaign without them. (I trained two 8-man squads of Longbowmen using Cedar Longbows. They were quite impressive in battle)

I am currently around turn 270 and cannot advance the campaign. I reached the point where I was supposed to split my party into emissaries to send back and warn the 4 kingdoms while the rest of my party traveled west to the site of the Big Battle. I have notified all 4 kingdoms of the impending attack. I received the ship and troops from the northern-most kingdom and sailed to Parth(?) and received additional troops there. It is the next kingdom South of Point Hope t
I wasn't talking about the 1st expansion pack. They made an improvement on their initial offer, so thumbs up on that one. For the 2nd expansion pack, Frogboy first said it would be free to people owning prior to v1.1 release. Now it is a Sept. 30th deadline. That's the difference I'm pointing out. It may not seem like much of a big deal, but I am still contemplating whether or not to purchase this game (I own and have read the book) and reading the ongoing ev
Hmm. I can't figure out how to edit my reply. me = board newb. That first sentence after the Frogboy quote SHOULD be part of the quote itself. Must have made a boo-boo. Anyway, it occurred to me after posting this, that perhaps the initial IN-HOUSE plan was what Kryo states it to be, but what Frogboy wrote on the forums about how "2nd exp. will be free to customers [y]" just a couple days ago doesn't quite sync up with what he's saying in this thread.
[quote who="kryo" reply="2" id="2776121"] This is something you guys need to decide fast and stick to the decision. Last week you said people that owned the game by the time of 1.3 (or something like that), either way I'm pretty sure this is something that is best decided quick and whatever you do don't change your mind. Initially the plan was to make the *first* expansion free to people who owned the game by 1.3. Now it's just free period. 1.1/Sep30 is for the second one
Signed. I won't be buying Elemental (much to my regret) until Epic battles are in the game. Not a mod, but actually in the game itself. I was very disappointed to discover this picture isn't achievable with the current version. In fact, I don't really think Stardock should be USING this picture at all in their advertising. :-(
I've been lurking here since the game released and been very much on the fence about whether to purchase it, warts and all, as I've enjoyed Sins of a Solar Empire and know Stardock has/had a good reputation as a champion for their customers. I picked up the Elemental novel last week while on vacation and have finished it. It's a quality story... although [MILD SPOILER!] the book ends with many subplots unfinished and mysteries unrevealed. It pretty much screams out for a s
Thanks for the help, both of you! I've downloaded the basic DL version from Filefront, so I really appreciate the link. Fiddled around with my first few turns. Pretty complex, but I'm getting the hang of it. (I'll read the Beginner PDF a little later). It's good to hear about the problems being fixable and/or more anomolies than standard issues with all customers. Thanks for the 2 cents on that as well! :)
Hi, I've purchased Sins of a Solar Empire, so I've kept an eye on the emails I've got about GalCiv II, as it looks pretty tempting. Today I decided I'd look into it and tried to download the demo. The link in the Downloads section takes you to: http://www.download.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=Galactic+Civilizations+II+Gold+Edition+Demo&tag
I picked up the game yesterday, not knowing much about it other than the general gameplay concepts and was surprised it didn't come with a single-player campaign. I know a lot of RTS players are more interested in multiplayer, but this is the first one I've come across that didn't ship with a campaign. I'm not saying it hasn't happened before, but in the 10+ RTS games I've purchased they've all had a campaign. As a (very) casual RTS player there's no way I'm going to be an even remotely
