I'm really looking forward to seeing the Reactor in Elemental and hopefully more non in-house games. Kings and Castles? >.>
Is there anyone at GPG or SD seriously considering DG 2? If so, I can't imagine it will be something coming out in the next 2 years, though.
GPP is working on Kings and Castles and an unannounced project. Stardock is working on Elemental and an unannounced RPG. So probably not.
Please. I had more lobby crashes than anyone mostly playing 5v5s. I know what it was like.
Whatever, MixMagic. I'm going to hold you to that post you made about Demigod 2 as much as I do Society Frogboy =P I really miss the sense of communication we got over the summer with Demigod. You don't get that with any other company. Demigod 2 would be incredible. I think both GPG and Stardock know exactly what would need to be done.
Stardock messed up(and made up for it), they got a third party program to do the netcode and failed to test it properly. THis was not GPG's fault. Okay guys, I have to interject here. How many times in the history of game publishing has the PUBLISHER been responsible to provide/handle the netcode? It never ceases to amaze me that people don't ask this question. I am not at liberty to go into details but you h
Quoting Polynomial, reply 5 Its a publisher decision, not a developer decision. It takes two to tango.
Again, its a publisher decision.
I can agree to say that the fact that they answered is awsome. BUT calling a company that will release SupCom2 on Steam only awsome. Well, I cannot bring myself to that. I will drop SupCom2 due to the Steam only choice. -1 Awesomeness from me I loved Total Annihilation and I liked SupCom, but SupCom2 I will have to pass
Its a publisher decision, not a developer decision.
Man, judging by people's opinions, Supcom 2 looks pretty bad. Then again, this is the internet, so one shouldn't take things so seriously. I hate games that require Steam. I put up with it for the Orange Box since it's Valve, which generally never disappoint, (though I don't wanna play Half-Life 2 because it's so damn creepy. hate the zombie section) What a bummer. Stardock is going to blow Gas Powered Games out of the w
I decided to take up on the offer about emailing GPG at about Chris Taylor saying he wanted to move his company towards the Steam platform. I don't want Kings and Castles to be a Steam only game, so I decided to email about it. And I got responses.
I know its early in the development process, but Chris Taylor mentioning in the Best Buy chat he wants to go all Steam concerns me. I don't think a Steam monopoly on a game is a good idea. Didn't GPG help
I don't think the DG concept will die. Demigod is a great game. Either GPG will make a sequel or Stardock will ultimately make a game that is in the same genre (with special pricing for Demigod players - you can quote me on that) to expand on the concept.
I've been saying this for a while. If you take lessons learned from Heroes of Newerth, League of Legends, and even Demigod itself and make Demigod 2 it would be incredible. I want
Yea Stardock and GPG do work well together. Just make sure you have a multiplayer system BEFORE release this time lol. I can say emphatically that any future titles we publish will require the developers take care of their own MP (either made themselves or licensed).
Lol. Learning from past experiences FTW. I thought the Stardock team liked working 80 hour weeks though? =P
I think another GPG/Stardock teamup would be great though there are a lot of buisness decisions that go beyond "Lets work with that Frogboy guy again" that are outside the scope of my understanding.
Yep =/
I don't (or hope) that was not what he was implying. We have very good relations with GPG. I don't think anyone at GPG would ever characterize our involvement in Demigod as anything other than life saving. As for Kings and Castles, it's too early to say on that. You're looking at a game that is quite a ways out. It will be cool to see how it evolves.
I just think GPG/Stardock make for a real good combinati
Kings and Castles sounds so much like a Stardock game.
I really think these two could work miracles together the way GPG is approaching development this time since GPG doesn't have a publisher yet. Just thinking it would be cool.
I hope Stardock won't publish it, GPG and Stardock have nothing in common.
That's hardly true.
Who knows who will publish it down the line though. Stardock usually sits well with PC gamer as far as I know.
Then there's the user controls. I can't imagine using an XBox 360 control for a strategy game. If the Wii was more powerful, the Wiimote would be great as a controller for a strategy game, but as it is now it'd be a very limited scope.
Talk about Wiiarm if you're playing an RTS with that thing...
Stardock should so publish it. Brad Wardell and Chris Taylor could make alternating absurd videos. I don't know if Stardock can publish for consoles though.
Stardock making an RPG doesn't sound right to me. MMORPG? Single player RPG? I'm sure you can sell me on it =P
http://www.giantbomb.com/news/gas-powered-announces-new-real-time-strategy-game/1869/ I don't know Stardock. Elemental: War of Magic may be a lame fantasy title. But Kings and Castles is pretty lame too!
The game gets really boring.
I really would like to know what they're working on next. Another Stardock/Ironclad gig again maybe?
April 6th.
