At the moment I have been struggling away in an attempt to replace the present minor race system, with one based upon technologies. I have managed to successfully make colony ships technology dependant, but getting over the basic handicap that prevents the starting minor races from building colony ships has proven difficult to the extreme. As far as I can tell, the handicap is linked to the civ-type variable 3, not to technology-tree nor AI personality, nor minor-ness.&nbs

I felt a bit sorry for the Ikonians in my last game, after I reduced them from no1 civilizations to well a few colonies forced to convert to the Krynn "way" in order to survive. But they were unreasonable, my other main rival the Yor after being chucked to the bottom figured out that t

I have always loved and been slightly annoyed by Minor Races in Galactic Civilizations. What are they really supposed to represent? At the moment they look basically like any other race, but with a set of rather artificial looking and never explained penalties. Why if you can build battleships can't you build colony ships? What is it that stands in their way? Minor Races should have a unique tech tree that represents their development into a space-faring

Yes you can do just that. You can send spies to sabotage entertainment/morale buildings, industries, research labs or whatever. You can steal techs as well. But what you cannot do is manipulate players into doing things directly as far as I know. If you find a miserable planet and infiltrate their entertainment buildings, you can quite effectively cause revolutions.

Sometimes I hate computers. They can be so irrational. After reinstalling the Galciv II game and all expansions I started a metaverse game. I played for ages and ages and no problems. Came back after a weeks abscence and guess what? The planets just went missing from the main map. And they won't come back. The icons are still there, they have replaced the planets. And the ships orbit around the invisible planets.

Terror stars should be for destroying stars I think. Not for anything else. Most definately including Cultural Influence. Maybe you should be able to use the threat of blowing up the star to achieve control over the whole system. Surrender or we'll blow up the star.

I think they should add some more races. I have ideas. The Nardani Internet. Alignment- Evil Description The Nardani got lost in Cyberspace a long time, so lost in fact they now universally consider reality to be Cyberspace and the real world to be simply a computer game. While this may sound funny, it makes the Nardani as utterly evil as the Drengin since they do not recognise the suffering of other beings to be real, nor their deaths to have any moral si
