oh, and WarlokLord. I don't care if my security suite becomes one with my OS as long as I can remove it properly, be it with third party software or whatelse...
Well, not everything is compatible with everything else. The deeper the anti-virus embeds itself, the less options you have to temporarily suspend its operations when you encounter a software conflict. There is a parallel here with DRM schemes.<

Mind you, not every arena ought to have , umm, 'gnarly' features to it... Some asymmetry would be good. A map made up of multiple suspended broken asteroid platforms in space would be great. Each one would be connected by static instantaneous teleportals, maybe linking 3 to 5 asteroid platforms together. Random inspiration there. I`ve posted about stuff like mud before (terrain features)... hopefully I don`t sound like a broken record. Hopefully I don`t sound like
This same circumstance is occurring with me - I`ve been joined twice by others, but these days every time I try to join a listed game it sits forever at the "trying to join" dialogue and gets nowhere. I default back to A.I. skirmishes. Something up with the Impulse matchmaker system?
Rather than that, I would recommend simply customizing the terrain with water & mud etc. - a skirmish map taking place in a graveyard might have areas where heroes of Light are buried, giving a penalty to vampires fighting on it, and another area ruined by evil spirits that gives a penalty to Light side folks. Just ideas off the top of my head. Mud is easier to envision: just slows movement of any ground-born units trudging through it. Right now, as beautiful as they are,
Although I`ve referred to Bat Swarm as primarily a transportation capability, I would not wish to see it lose its damage aspect. Eliminate the damage aspect and you wind up with simply an Elven Cloak teleport... which is Elven Cloak Teleport. May as well be "Bat Swarm" in that case. My idea to impart a chance of damage per unit affected seems to address the ability both mechanically and mythologically (some people get bitten, others are fortunate). I`m honestly more concerned with the
I agree - time to think about your purchase. Additonally, you could introduce a special class of items that are *only* for the Achievement category. Now what that would entail (better, weaker, more unique) I`m not sure, but such a distinction might give developers flexibility in crafting items tailored for persistence in a campaign setting. I had actually assumed that Persistent Item purchases would be acquired in-between skirmish actions, in some sort of character upgrade/selection s
Whether these things interfere with your computing... thats my benchmark. Also, how thoroughly the thing embeds itself into your OS... somewhat like a malicious virus or trojan (!)... thats another.
An imperfect suggestion here: companies that utilize DRM such as Securom could adopt an official stance that 'X' weeks after a product release they will offer a tool to completely & cleanly remove said protection, it having served its initial sale spurt purpose. Protection of the initial sale period is an argument for DRM that I am not agreeing with, but perhaps a parsing avenue by which one could compromise the community away from hardline DRM in general. Some companies have on
About Erebus and Bat Form/Swarm, Though I believe the chance of damage delivery is the ideal, another option would be increasing the energy cost of the ability. Being inventive, make the cost of Bat Form/Swarm 50% of Erebus` maximum energy, no matter his level or items. So even at high levels, when all other abilities have become more economical, Bat Form/Swarm still takes a gargantuan half of his energy. That might encourage more careful and less blaise usag
In case they haven`t been posted... 1. Demigod Physical Space Occupation Demigods can get too close to one another, such that they are incapable of physically attacking each other. Sometimes this manifests onscreen as them striving to occupy the same space. 2. Item Usage Click Error 75% of the time I click my mouse on item slot #1 - just to the right of the bu
I would add that there is randomness in human reaction speeds, in the accuracy of mouse selection, and in the efficiency of the thought processes in your brain as you strive to quickly & logically grapple with circumstances. Chess is a sterile, static, uncreative pursuit, something I do not want replicated in Demigod and therefore too something that is a terrible parallel to Demigod. Ignoring items, which rely upon luck to a considerable</
Strategic Wonders Sins seems primed for the addition of Wonders ala the Civilization series. You could have such structures provide influence as well as improve relations diplomatically either as a one time boost, an ongoing bonus to diplomacy, or a smattering of both. The existence of such in a sector could provide a boost to tourism and therefore trade of all sorts. Certain types could provide some sort of boost to research or to rese
Now with Entrenchment coming close to release it is becoming especially important to consider strategic notifications in Sins. We have ample tactical iconography and feedback, but we need more strategic level iconography and feedback. In other strategy games of grand conquering scope we take notice of achievements of the empires. When somebody utilizes galaxy-shattering tech we are at the least informed that they have (i.e. Star Wars: Empire At War`s Death Star completion...). In Sins
A soundtrack is going to be part of the pre-order deal, as it was with Sins Of A Solar Empire . I hope to hear more of the doom-laden themes typified by the scale & scope of the supporting fiction; I admit given the trend with some recent games (Red Alert 3, Sacred 2) I am worried a bit that Demigod might drift a little into 'band' music, although I have as yet seen/heard nothing to indicate my concern is valid beyond other games` trending. I like
I disagree with a random chance to damage on bat form, this has a huge negative impact on its use vs demigods. I think hitting the damage, but having it consistently applied is better. Your description basically turns the skill into a crap shoot. I may hurt the demigod, I may not.
But the Bat Form skill is primarily meant to transport Lord Ereban from 'X' to 'Y', is it not? The damage delivery is gr
just a few precisions^^: the lightnings bolts seems to come from an item bought by the enemy ai; and the odd voice of the oak is just here to test the sound system; there will be an other voice in the release. I agree with what you said and i want to add that adding differents models for dark and lights creep would greatly improve the gameplay, since being able to identify immediatly your foes and allies is very important. Some of these ideas have the potential to suck the strategic life out of this game. If people want to Mine the spacelanes they ought to be able to. If people want to neglect their fleets in order to ***Entrench*** (the whole POINT of this expansion) then they ought to be able to try. If people wish to neglect Empire research in order to achieve a Strategic weapon in the military tech tree, then they should be able to. If a player strives to build nothing but defenses in a game, then y
Lord Ereban This is a spectacularly fun character. His Bite ability does low damage, but its low energy cost and rapid regenration means an astute player can at least leverage additional damage and some subtle penalties again
Sacred 2 allowing for two simultaneous installs off a single copy is a valid accolade pertaining to copyright tyranny.
So then create a bit of code that tracks & records what the player`s camera perspective was, and recreate that in a non-interactive video file. The point then being said player can position the camera view to capture great game moments and be assured that those can be relayed to those who might be enticed.
Maby a good balance could be creating a ship class that pushes the mines away (like a reverse magnetic field - NOT a 1 to 1 basis) on a reasonable range scale, pushing all the mines back within that area range (enough to protect a fleet). This would work for the mines including the Homing mines from Advent and mass gravity well mines from Vassari e.g pushes them away. However it may also be useful if the mines went back to thei

The current replays could simply be converted to a movie format after the game shuts down (or opt to do so manually in a game menu, much like the file manager for savegames in Sins Of A Solar Empire. My point with this was to entice those who do *not* play Demigod to try doing so after bearing witness to some good gameplay that we may capture.
Credit where credit is due. Note that some entries may have both positives *and* negatives mentionable in this and the "DRM Nays" thread. Sacred 2 1. You can install this game on 2 systems off a single CD. 2. A wealth of post-release patched game material (levels/quests, creatures, items, etc.). 3. No DVD required in the drive to run. Prince Of Persia 1. Not interested in this one myself, but if E
