Holy crap is he powerful. Even against A.I., this character is the most consistently successful Demigod in the game. He needs a slight nerf. From previous posts I am compelled to reiterate: keep his Mines from becoming active for as long as entities are in the viscinity, or add a 5 second delay to them becoming active. Regulus in the current build utilizes his Mines offensively, like mortar shells. He already has a crossbow and associated abilities to take it to a foe... heape

I`ve been thinking that perhaps both GPG and Ironclad have been pounding the Stardock/Impulse gaming system into shape too.

Thanks for the update on Entrenchment status. Not to start a new can of worms here, but have IronClad and Stardock been simultaneously working on the second expansion?... (feel free to not answer!...)

I don`t think it unheard of to expect a more solid expansion by the 11th (reported officially via Fileshack). Its been quite some time in Demigod years (!) since any code was released for Entrenchment, so I suspect it will release in fairly good shape. Once its released, then we can immediately begin bugging Ironclad about the diplomacy expansion... (grin) Its good to hear a firm release date for Entrenchment. Just a single day after FEAR 2 too.

Hmmm. Queen Of Thorns, Rook, TorchBearer, and Regulus all have the ability in one usage to annihilate almost any special Minions you can summon. I don`t believe micromanagement could thwart that. I am skeptical. Don`t special Minions already give their controller experience for their kills? Not sure... As for Yetis being on their own versus structures, yes, but lets not forget how reliant & focussed Sedna is on her entourage. If anybody can leave 8 Yeti-like/Yeti-

Another thought: why not create a second type of Flag that is identical to current ones but is subject to widowing? That way, map designers can have the freedom/power to add them where appropriate/they see fit. Not all Flags would have to conform to this concept. It could depend upon the map.

I am thrilled to sample Demigod, but I hope that a reserve of 'stuff' is going to be released only upon retail arrival. My thinking is I`d like to encounter aspects of the experience that I am not yet familiar with as a beta tester, like perhaps another 17 Demigods (!!!) or so. Keep the game fresh even for us testers/podium-speakers.

I could have sworn I posted in this thread. Must`ve been tired and closed up the windows before I clicked the Post button. Yes, varied experience progression could be a viable balancing mechanism for Demigods. The Rook might be a good example candidate for such. Not a replacement for other balance work, just a tool in the arsenal. Skills that require more than a single point to acquire might be an idea too. Maybe not appropriate for current Demigod developer thinking

Superb idea to have "widowed" Flags take more time to capture. That one I think would serve the current Demigod state very well. Deep-captures are still possible, but subtly more difficult.

Idol Minions and Special Minions should not give either Gold or Experience to their slayers lest the benefit of their utilization be completely thwarted by the advantage gained in their slaying - you wouldn`t want to summon merely a larger XP pool for your foes. This occurred to me long before the newest beta, as I pondered the circumstances in which a General would *want* to summon Minions. And we do want Generals to summon Minions. I submit to you that the inclination
Quoting Tamren, reply 11 Will Dawn of War 2 be Steam dependant for patching and multiplayer and the like? In essense just like all of Valves games. hehe it uses GFWL for matchmaking and patches. So the game is tied into Steam and GFWL...
Offering the game via Steam, needing Steam running, and yet wanting Games For Windows LIVE to handle multiplayer is a bit of a head-scratcher deci

I am amused and somehow intrigued by the process, after observing it in totality, myself included: stepping back, we are all engaged in duelling for the soul of Demigod... I don`t know - it seems a little surreal at times. Its a game; feels a bit wierd. (grin) Anyway...

Sedna With tweaks from the latest version I think Sedna is powerful, yet balanced. Against a true heavy-hitter like the Rook or the Unclean Beast, she is in trouble, but with her minions she can sustain a constant fight quite well. She is certainly the optimal team supporter. I don`t believe she is unbalanced, I believe she is easy to play . (Because of her reliance on minions and her support auras... very hands-off. It works!) Queen Of Thorns<

A Cursed Point would lose its effect over you over time, unlike the Flag points you *want* to control. The purpose would be to introduce some type of momentary strategic negative that goes with the capture of a normal Flag or area that is of great consequence to the game, thereby giving your foes an opportunity to turn the tables and take such for themselves or otherwise inflict severe damage to you. Of course if you had an alternate route to a valuable Flag or area that bypassed a Cu

Meritorious idea, but to me having to rely on players that occassionally selflessly spend on behalf of the team is a good mechanic to grapple with - I`m comfortable relying upon myself or independent others for Citadel upgrades. Keeps the income situation simple too.
This is a good idea. It would add an interesting option to the game, adding more strategic depth to it. I'd be all for it. And I've said this in another thread, but how about a flag that once captured reduces the war score of your enemy, letting the portals make less units.
I believe I would agree that there needs to be or could be another factor that can influence/temper/control what come
It would take a medium sized fleet devoted to defending each planet from such AI seige rushes. It was annoying, but did anyone actually LOSE a game to that? That's the important question.
Good point - I agree with this perspective completely.

I do not want this to be a Diablo -fest, where items are more critical to a Demigod than the Demigod`s own skills. In Titan Quest , items augmented skills , which was the proper way to go. The abilities inherent to the Demigod itself is what makes the Demigod unique & interesting - shift the focus over to items and you wind up firmly in DiabloLand. The Demigods will lose their character to a substantial degree. The focus should always (if at all) be
