Virraith: I hope you are right about Age of Wonders. I decided to buy it. It was a little bit problem, because it is an ancient game, but I found it on Amazon. Amazon does not send games to my country, but fortunately I have a nice college in Austria.
Yes. If you preorder the game, you may join the beta members.
Agreed. You definitely can't play RTS in a train.
Exactly this might work and I think it would not be too difficult to implement.
Well, and I downloaded MyColors setup, but it does not working. Details above.
No, firewall shall not be the problem. I allowed the connection. When the progress of download reaches 100%, mycolors window disappears. I looked at windows themes, but i found only the standard Windows themes there.
I tried to install MyColors. It does nothing. It has asked me twice to confirm EULA and the target directory. After that it downloaded something from the web and that is all. No question about the serial number nor any change of the theme. The target directory does not exist. I only found this file c:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\MYCOLORS_SETUP.EXE-02D51EF5.pf . What shall I do? I am running WinXP.
I knew what happened and I looked at the firewall protocol. I found the connecting application there. But I solved the problem only in my computer. Not all players are programmers. I wrote this, because this is a bug and I think, that is shall be corrected in the game.
I had the same issue, but I know what happened to me. The firewall is blocking the communication. I wanted to try to connect. I knew, that firewall wants to confirm the connection in this case. But there is no way to confirm the dialogue, because the game is waiting to establish the connection and Alt-Tab, Ctrl-Esc etc. do not work. There should be a timeout in the game.
It would be probably better, if two players could manage the same empire. I saw this already in some game.
I already found the solution - refresh XML data in Options. I see the version 1.02.018 there and the download works.

I just bought Sins of the solar Empire. I ordered DVD collector edition. I see the game in my purchased games in SDC, but the displayed version is the last beta, instead of the erlease version of the game. If I try to install the Betaversion, the attempt fails. What can I do?
I have not seen a good fantasy TBS since Master of Magic. I am very sorry about that. I loved this game. Especially creating artifacts. But unfortunately I found a universal tactics, that made the game easy even on the toughest difficulty. I wait for similar game since. How many years it was? No idea. But games games ran pretty fast on 80386-SX processor with 2 MB RAM!
With money you are a tiger. Without them you are a dead meat. Quickly get some good planets. Build exactly one farm on each of them. 6 mil. colonist is very little (without farm). With two farms you will have problems with the morale. Do not build any farm on your homeworld.
For the ship combat are weeks OK.
See [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?aid=167298"]this[/link]
The solution was in MOO2 - you had to park your ship to some planet and the ship was moved to the build queue of the planet. It would be nice, but I like the way in Galciv too.
2, 3a and 3b would be nice. I like those suicidal attacks. c and d would be too difficult to implement.
I think that the latest version is 1.80g. This version is already all right. This is not the beta version.
There is always the hope. But if we are silent, there is no hope.
It would be nice. The good old Stars! game had it. But it would require complete change of AI and that is why it is not a suitable solution. Adding some additional starbase modules would however help.
The option would be to allow to add the starbases to the fleet. In that case starbase would not attract enemy fire, unless it is more powerful than guardian ships. And it will make sense to build weapons on the starbase, because the starbase would be able to assist in combat.
Exactly. In late game even large sized ships have much better attack/defense statistics. And it is bad. And starbases should have more hitpoints than ships too. At this moment they have the same number of hit points as medium ships. And it is not enough.
