I have a few questions pertaining to the relative ease with which these systems (tech tree, component editor, etc.) can be used. Are they going to be simple for the "computer challenged" like myself? A good reference for me to compare with would be civ 3's design. I found even that hard to master and perfect. Are newly discovered minors supposed to get all the technology that the strongest civ has? Because that has happened in a few games, and it gets kind of frustrating to see a newly formed civ possess the most technology in the galaxy. and I have noticed a lot of talk about planet and ship trading. Vader wasn't defeated, and the rebellion would have fallen had Luke been killed. Vader killed Palpatine, remember? He chose death to save his son. I agree however, that in an all-out resource battle (although impossible to create ), the Drengin Empire might pull out on top, with heavy losses of course.

I can't believe this. The FORCE ppl, the FORCE!! I do not know who Kane is either, however, a one on one battle between Vader and Kona would lead to the death of a Drengin. There is no way Kona could win. If he tried hand to hand, vader would choke him. If he tried to sword fight, vader would cut off BOTH his hands. If he tried a surprise attack, vader would sense it and turn it against him. If the armies of either side were to battle- which would be interesting none the less

I, too, agree with what is being said here. Maybe invasion could take multiple weeks, but you only have to see the invasion screen once? For example, let's say that you are the Drengin and you invade the Torian homeworld. You attempt to go in the traditional way (this will take the longest). Then you are presented with information on how long it will take (based on technology, military prowess, and population of the native planet). Now let's say it is 4 weeks. the population might be sp

Well, It would seem that luck has graced me tonight. Stardock is now displaying its games once again. However, when I started up GalCiv II to play, the ship images and main map will not stop spinning. Not only does this make me dizzy, it makes it impossible to play the game. Well, it was just taking a long time to download of course, and I would just leave it on during the day. When I would come home the computer had restarted and there was no error messages or anything. Hello everyone, Hoping someone can help me figure this out. I recently downloaded Stardock and I have an account, and I have purchased both GCII and DA. I succesfully downloaded GCII after about a day (I have dial-up). However, DA would not install after several tries and now Stardock Central will not display any games at all! I like this idea a lot too, and this could provide a lot of strategy. What if a civilization takes your stargate and can use it against you? Move their ships to the your homeworld before you have the chance to take it down. Or should you be able to take it down? Interesting idea... This looks extremely awesome! I do have a few questions though. What about all the minor races that inhabit the galaxy? Will they have a generic "minor tech tree". And what about custom races? Will we be able to select which tree to use, similar to the way you choose ship templates at the beginning of the game? Or maybe some mix and matching is to be in order? I think if you are in another cultures sphere of influence it should reduce your range by a set percentage. This way you will not be able to penetrate very far into another emire but if you share a planet on the edge of another empire and its in their space you will still be able to get to it. The advantage of a border treaty is that you could pass through their shpere of influence without a range penalty. This will satisfy the people who want realism also. S

Okay, I have a question. I have two computers in my home. One has internet and stardock central on it. My other one has GalCivII on it. Is there a way for me to download the updates from stardock onto a CD or disk and then get those updates to load on my other computer?
