I had always wished the original game would include some mechanic to introduce a trade off for focus firing (the main weapons, at least) of all ships on a single target. For instance,a suppression effect altering accuracy/output on ships under fire that would be lost if you directed everyone to attack one target. And I still want my Advent battle balls!

The trade routes in question are initiated by my civilization. They began life as regular trade routes and were upgraded to slave trade routes via the malevolent ideology tree, if that makes a difference. I am uploading a video in case it answers the question better. While it does not come through the audio on this video, when the mouse pointer hovers over the "Cancel Route" button there is much mashing of the mouse button along with gn

I have been trying to find out how to cancel a trade route. I am playing as Yor in version 1.7. I have tried selecting the trade route in the Trade tab of the Govern menu screen, and then clicking the "Cancel Route" button, but this does nothing. I cannot find any option to cancel the route when talking to the race through the diplomacy screen. Is there another method to accomplish this? Or are the Yor unable to cancel trade routes as a "Poor trader" race?

Now that I re-discovered Deskscapes was working well on Windows 10, I had thought to obtain some of my old dreams that I liked when I first used it. However, there are so many broken download links. I always get the error message: Make sure the web address http://skins20.wincustomize.com is correct. Look for the page with your search engine. Refresh the

I have recently installed Deskscapes 8 from the Stardock Central application after purchasing it as a stand alone product. Much like the previous versions, I like it quite a bit, but unfortunately I find I cannot use the peek utility in Windows 8 to return to the desktop. I am running Windows 8 Pro with Media Center (64-bit), and utilize a dual Radeon 6950 setup with Catalyst version 13.2. The peek utility, at least as I am using the term, is the ability to right click the r

If you select larger fonts in the "Change only the text size" options under "Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display", the Start8 searchbar cuts off text. It does not appear to adjust based on font size. While I am reasonably sure its not completely trivial to solve, I was hoping that mentioning it here may put it on the road map of eventually getting solved. And if anyone else has found a solution, I would be glad to hear.

Course if they make a lot of money off this whole series maybe someone will make sins II. With 64bit multithreaded DirectX11 client server configuration goodness. Maybe. Its possible.

I didn't clarify. I don't have a problem with the current counters, I meant as a game play perspective to keep frigates more desirable. And make it more fun to kill big stuff.

My only gripe is that planet raiding for credits is ALWAYS beneficial where the anti matter regen is ONLY beneficial if you use it in the time alloted. I like the idea of having it trigger with cap ship, titan, or starbase death idea better than the current implementation. Or, you could make it add a set amount of extra antimatter on a ship, completely separate from normal antimatter, which is consumed when your existing antimatter stores are depleted. The normal antimatter reg

Some people have been talking about various problems which seem to be titan feeding and frigates. Mostly, I think, for multiplayer matches. Dont engage the titan early, dont build many frigates, they are a snack and level up the titan, use pirates to level your titan, etc... Would change the experience a titan - and only a titan - receives help with this? For instance, decreasing the experience from killing frigates (and maybe strikecraft, who knows), slightly nudg

Well, to present a hard counter in science fiction to the Battlestar Galactica example I reference the Bolo series, in which light attack craft do not stand a chance against relavistic speed Hellbore fire. The armor, shielding, and resiliency of a heavy planetary siege unit clearly outweighs the mobility advantage offered by a lighter, more nimble air/space vehicle, as does power generation and tracking abilities. You can see many battles where careful application of firep

I don't know that I noticed this problem before patch 0.8, but I see my Iconus Guardians casting Shield Projection all the time. It does not matter if they are out of combat (or even in a system with no enemies). They are always cruising on empty due to the antimatter drain. On the plus side, my weaving skills from playing a bard in Everquest is coming in handy to micro this.

So I am a tad confused. 1) If we have a multiplayer desync issue, is it useful to send in the game file after the desync occurs, or is it only useful if it is before the desync occurs? 2) If you record the game, does sending in the recording help pinpoint any desync issues? 3) If you send in the save game file (or recording, I suppose), do you need just your file or as many of the other players as possible? </p

I like the OP suggestions for Mass Communion. Playing the Advent rebels seems ho hum for most of the early to mid game. In terms of playing against the AI, trying to make this into something to help turtling/economy players sounds great but you do not get much economic reward for doing so, or for building all those Temples of Communion (right now you have to divert a lot of money to research it, then even more money to build them). It seems to be a huge diversion of resources withou

I think both advent titans look good. The pissed off looking loyalist Iron Maiden and the flinging-herself-desperately-foward Joan-of-Arc rebel titan are neat take offs on their factions enforcement vs sacrifice ethos. And that medallion above the Eradica? You need to find your answer in Star Trek lore. Thats the captain's yacht. [e digicons];)[/e]

I mentioned this in an earlier post, but it was mixed in with other stuff so may not have been seen. I cannot see the progenitor firing 3 plasma cannons. It has 3 in Diplomacy. Cant see it firing 3 in rebellion though - the third that was situated at the base of the ship looks like its been replaced with a laser. The nerfage!

I don't know that you would want the long range frigates in the back if you are advent. you want those suckers close enough to use all 3 beam banks.

Capital ship order cannot be maintained when the Discord battleship is added to a fleet - I cant tab through the capital ships in a fleet before selecting through frigates. The Discord is always first and as you continue to tab it goes through capitals and sometimes frigates before you scroll through all the capital ships. In Diplomacy I am pretty sure that if the cap ship I wanted was listed third in the fleet on the the left pane, it took 2 tabs to get to it. On a mo

I think it will be interesting to see how the eradica does. Maybe I missed it, but does purifying a ship count as destruction to enhance the damage output with Strength of the Fallen? In a war of attrition paying a couple thousand credits to keep my titan alive and kicking up its damage seems a favorable compromise to just gettting pounded. For that matter, sacrificing a capital ship to save the titan is a steal, since your progenitor can re-level it. And while it ma
