_YaY_ for Emperor AmazingBen! Pretty darn good, if you think a compliment from lowly me is noticable. Though I missed your pause for input in earlier, I wanted to mention I would have used the advantage (just b4 you went for diplo victory) to seriously think about building a massively unbeatable fleet (with a super ship named Godzilla ) and played cat&mouse for a month to run up the score to som

going out with some friends or the significant other, will I have a beer? No. Different social situation. Dunno why, but sneaking off behind the woodshed with Sally to dig the Applejack bottle out of a snowdrift ... warm breath frosty in the winter night's air, cuddling her up under my coat while we watched the moonlight sparkle on the icy trees and the snow ... ... so much better than a smoky neanderthal bar packed full of stinky sluts, con artists
Lots of info - still need to re-read to remember it all. Looks like it will work, and there is some interest obviously. I have two thoughts to bring to the Stoa (a Stoa was a "painted porch" in ancient Athens where teachers would mingle and discuss philosophy) - One , we still need to see how many people wanna play. Two , To get newer players in we prolly need to have a way to play smaller maps at lower difficulty levels (don't forget memory/ctd probs on bigger maps). <B
I ran into that also. There are actually two different selections - Scenario and Difficulty. The scenario is not selectable for Metaverse games. That's the first screen when starting a normal game ... the fourth screen when starting a normal game is the difficulty selection, which also applies to Metaverse games. Hey! Wake Up! [splash of water] You falling assleap on duty, sojer?
I wasn't lurking, I never lurk! I have better things to do with my slime. I was formulating my next scientific/sociological paper for "United Scumbags", if you must know -> "How corrupt politicians that constantly sweated about being caught directly contributed to the the evolution of a new species - Scumby - and how the sweat glands in their pasty white skin evolved to produce such copious excretions of slippery slime in this new species" ... I expect I'll get a "Spyentific American" a
"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink" ... [unknown] But! You CAN pull out your video camera, and record the dying process ... (make sure you get the part where the face falls into the water when the collapse from dehydration occurs!!! and don't foget some glib remarks about how it's difficult to know if the poor little horsey died from dehydration or drowning!!! that'll be good "intellectual" stuff) ... and then send it in to "World's Funniest Animal
Class is in session! GW Swicord - As an editor, you must have a very interesting time with he various "facts" that are presented to you in various ways. I can't decide if I envy you or pity you. I am a believer of the oldest school of all - Stoicism, in the original form; before "Stephano-Colbertus Pex-Gaga Plato-Itis Me-Firstius" changed the popular perceived definition. ["Virtue, reason, and natural law are prime directives. By mastering passions and emotions, Stoics believe it i
The evil little bastards!! Actually, I have a real termite problem here at the moment.... perhaps they are hatching some evil plot? The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men gang aft agley..... but what about termite plans? Perhaps they're super strategists and I am doomed to ignominous, magical, roof-head crushing!! <IMG id=ImageResize_Image_29 src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Sad.gif" onload=ImageResizer.createOn(this); align=absMid
i think we should remember a few things. exclusively homosexual men and women don't have kids by accident; we only have kids when we want kids. why would our motivations be different than heterosexual people who want to have kids? our families are fully planned from start to finish, which makes it easier to provide economic advantages to our kids. we also make more money and receive more education on average, and i think we'd be likely to pass on those values. the best
Thats just a diffrence of opinion on which is better. While I don t want to spank my kids I will if I feel it is warrented. Don't say that in public, or some [censored] person will use it as an excuse to take your kids away.
It reads preety good ... you want an honest opinion? I was a little put off by the spacing, but that's ok. The inserting of information that might be useful for others while playing their games is an attraction. lot's of reading required to sift it out, IMHO. Longer posts/fewer total might be something to think about. Some aar's also insert screenshots to illustrate a particular event, right from the game play. I dunno if an image host is required for that but I think so. It would be s
also, who says gays don't promote reproduction? i've read an evolutionary anthopologist's point of view on the issue, and he thinks gay genes are beneficial to human procreation. he observed that 1) gays are not persecuted in most societies and more often enjoy positions of prestige, and 2) in all socities he's observed, gay men are better at communicating with women than are straight men, and often serve as marriage councilors. he concluded that it's possible gays pas
Perhaps one of the termites was the witch! YeaH! or maybe a specially adapted termite was boring into their brains, and controlling them, and 'Bob' was just part of the evening's entertainment on 'Termite Saturday Night Live' -> watch the stupid human get crushed by a roof [tiny little squeeky laugh-muwhahahaha]
To heavily summarise it....The Azande have a system of belief that interprets beneficial and negative actions as the work of witchcraft. So if a man is sitting on his veranda and the roof falls and kills him, then everyone knows it is the malicious work of a witch. Naturally, the skeptical Rationalist will say..... the termites ate the wood, they'd been eating the wood for years and it was only a matter of time before it fell. It was simply chance that he was
Just wanted to say, to whomever suggested reading about Baruch Spinoza - Thanks! I finally got around to reading up a little more on this fellow on Wikipedia [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baruch_Spinoza ]. I bookmarked it when it was mentioned and got back to it this a.m. It's also very interesting to me personally because I had at least considered what seems to be a major portion of his thoughts ... and here I am what? 340 years later. Although I'm not overly anxious to accept anythi
And what about our emperor? he seems weak and we can't put up with weaklings, now can we? I say we should attempt to murder him (or worse) and then pick a stronger, more evil, emperor! Hahahahahaaa! Wanna hire Scumby for the job? He'll do anything! ... oops! sorry neilo, it was just a joke ( hssst - call BR549, ask for "Richard" ). Soooo ... anyone heard any good evil jokes lately? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/
That is a little arbitrary is it not? Surly alchohol is not a source of temptation for every person in the religion, so why apply a rule like that to every person in the religion? With only one person "in the religion" it's very difficult not to appear arbitrary, even though I do my best to be democratic about things. ( Isn't that right, Precious? - Yes, yes, you're always right, Precious! ) <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Laugh.gif
It took me awhile to figure it out too. Mostly it's a means of competing without really competing head-to-head, by playing against the AI at whatever level you choose, with whatever options you choose, then posting your scores to the Metaverse. A lot of people join Empires, which is another way of competing, since the Empire's get rated by various criteria as well. A lot of people are having a lot of fun! Some of the different Empires have active members in the Forums as well, and I've
ElWhopO, as a prerequisite for living here, you must have watched all re-runs from the Bob and Doug McKenzie's "Great White North" show, The Red Green Show, Trailer Park Boys, not to mention pledging allegiance at the holy shrine of William (Bill) Shatner, recite all Toronto Maple Leaf and Montreal Canadian hockey team players living and dead from as far back as 1967 (cakewalk), and have used the word(?) "eh" in any sentence structure, and have at anytime purchased bee
Well, some form of "satan" exists in most religions, so most religions would disagree with you. In addition, believing something exists is not equivalent to worshiping it. I'd say your logic is way off base here. No doubt it is, and everyone needs something to believe in, and a way of accepting the unknown. I'm glad you didn't go spastic. Of course I didn't expect you to, just a little paranoia on my part wondering if a fanatic was lurking and has packed
I wanna live in Canada too! [snif] How come you guys have all the fun? I always hear good things about Canada, and I really enjoyed my visit to B.C. way back when. p.s. Let me know who to thank. Well it wasn't me ... I can't even find the "join Empire" button without 15 minutes of intense concentration ... sigh ... back in my younger days, I coulda ... uhhh, what was I saying?
Do not be so quick to respect every belief, there are some [[censored]] up religions out there, the ones I'm refering to are the racist ones and ones where the teaching leads to violence. Be careful also no note that some religions are "spined" and used for other purposes not actually meant by the religion at all. That's another reason why I keep coming back to compassion, honesty, strength, courage, intellect, and responsibility - using those as st
Keep going, pleeze! I'm all ears ... (well, not really. I did get stuffed in a paper bag as a child tho ) You have at least one Fan!
Aww...you can join, ElWhopO. You know you want to. You'd be safe here anyway Yea, I'd be safe ... but would you? My other new character - thinking of using this one for League play, if any league gets started. You guys notice that post about Leagues by ghostwes? "Oh No! There
Well, I'd like to ask permission to join your Empire, too. I am of age and my computer is definitely slow enough for this empire - I'm just glad this is a turn-based strategy game... Sure don't see why not ! Welcome. Soon as I or one of my compadres figures out how to send the invite (the Emperor will be back in a few days) then we'll make it so! The_Butter_Flies !! [drums and bugles][marching bands] I'm glad this is turn based ga
