The planet economy is more sophisticated, we got rid of the ambiguous morale system and replaced it with adjacency bonuses.
YES. Most of the time I have to mod the tech trees to give me morale bonuses so that I can finish a game! It will be nice to actually be able to have that 32b population planet and not have it have a 15% approval rate. That doesn't even make sense to me. If I can provide enough food these people should
We have not announced anything more specific than needing a 64bit OS and DirectX10 video card.
Alrighty, just wondering!
That is a dual channel board, so getting just one will decrease performance, as even what you have already will be forced down into single-channel mode as well. You will want a matched pair, if anything. At that though yo

I am wondering if anywhere there was posted what the recommended pc requirements are for Galactic Civilizations III? I know my pc can handle it, but I was wondering specifics like ram sizes. I was thinking of buying some more (I have 8gb but was thinking 12) but I was just wondering if more might be needed with having the game 64bit only. I don't know if any of you are computer experts, but I was also wondering whether I should get 2x2gb or 1x4gb? I have two open slots on my mobo

I hadn't even thought of improving the starbases, they were more of an afterthought in GC2. If they are going to be as much of a game changer as in Sins then there's got to be some balancing. Only so many until more logistics researched? If ships can dock, then those starbases are going to be quite powerful. It would be cool if some starbases could build ships, maybe small/tiny ships. Perhaps starbases have fighter/bomber squads for extra defense? [quote who="Goudeau42" reply=
If Ender’s Game was, ironically, an RTS.
Excellent book (meh movie). Even better series. It would be incredible if you could play a game the way the command/control was used there. I personally can't wait for "third phase" RTS's. I've had a quad core, 8gb, 64 bit rig for years and would love to see a game that would require me to install more RAM to play with the thousands of units on screen. Seeing some of the things that AMD has

I just hope someone can come up with a way to bypass this problem. Or if Microsoft removes the restrictions. I might have to try streaming it though! What kind of programs are people using to stream games?

I recently bought a windows rt tablet and was thinking it would be awesome if I could play Galactic Civilizations 2 or even 1 on my tablet! But then I was like, oh yeah, I have rt. I really like this tablet and the full version of windows was a lot more money and the hardware wasn't as good. What would be really cool was if someone with the knowledge recompiled the game for ARM architecture (or if someone came up with a good hack). Is there any chance that Stardock would think of releasin

Just want to get my opinion on here.. I thought Hard was too hard, until just recently. I don't think I had the beta yet and I whipped the Hard AI. Granted I had about 15 more planets than he had, I just sniped their capital planets and all the planets it took to get straight there. It was by no means a "send my ships here and let them do their thing" game, but it did not require me to retreat my fleets and rebuild. I just kept building smaller fleets and sending them in groups to
So how many of you still play GC II (any edition) on a regular basis?
Well I have it installed on my beast pc, but haven't played it for like... two months. I love this game. I love how people (and me somewhat) are like 'I don't have enough money!' This is the stuff you have to save money for! I was thinking, alright gonna save up for awhile, but I know that this game and Stardock are so good that I can
If i get into a 2 front war, it's over.
That seems to be the kicker. If you use the Vasari this isn't as bad because you can jump all over the place and you are super mobile. Play with anyone else and you're a goner. Everyone keeps saying Hard is meant to be "HARD". Well it is. It just is HARDER than it was. I'd think it would be ok that Hard was that "HARD" if there were only three tier

So I complained about this before, I mean before sins had this new update. I think that you guys made the "hard" AI much harder again. I don't know if you just put the income modifier back in, but I'm finding it much harder to form relationships and to beat "hard" AI. I've tried playing against just one hard AI, in a large (multi) map, but it still is much harder than it was. The AI somehow destroys every other race in their system, then conquers the other one and starts bombardin

I don't know if anyone has reported this bug, but I was playing on a large-multi map and this happened. http://postimg.org/image/3quevgnb7/full/ My scouts kept just going around in circles and there was no way to get to any other parts of the system except through the wormhole. Is that supposed to happen? I've never played a game where this happened. I think it's kinda unbalanced. I have to spend a bunch of mon
So one thing I think could be cool, and this is kind of stealing the idea from fallen enchantress, is making the environment have more character i.e. wild lands. Map layout is varied right now but there is all repetition in the individual systems. You see an ice planet any where on the map and you pretty much know what to expect. They need some more variety, more than just different planet types. I am taking about giant nebulas that eng
Ground Warfare can consist of specific troop transports that you must use to take over a world. Along with planet bombers, and colony ships The planet bombing is only effective to a point, but you must bring in ground forces in to "mop up", and garrison. This can be shown as an ability similar to Planet Mania (animations of ground troops fighting above the planet). Once won the planet is yours, but you cant do a damn thing with it until you br

I've got to get in my two bits here. I'd love to see a Sins2. I've been here from the beginning and before and have said it all along. When rebellion came out I peed my pants and I will again. Main thing: Campaign. This would be awesome. I'm torn between the two ideas here: show the alien race chasing the Vasari or not. If you do show the race, then I think it should be pretty epic. If you don't show the race, I d
