Heh...I always heard it as "A Liberal is just a Conservative that hasn't been mugged yet." And it may be a cliche', but it's so true...that's precisely what started my shift from the far left to "right-of-center." Also, why does being a liberal automatically mean you wouldn't have a gun? I know a LOT of very left-leaning people who own guns and believe in the Second Amendment in the U.S. I'm not trying to start a gun debate, I'm just wondering why the automatic reaction.

OK, let me re-phrase...I didn;t mean it to come off insulting at all, I'm SO not saying the suite is bad! It's really creative and the art is bright, and very well done. Maybe "cartoony" came to mind because of Toox-XP... I guess it's the softer edges and bright, primary-ish colors that I'm wondering about. And so many colors! I'm curious to know the motivation, since you folks tend to lead the artistic direction of a large part of the community based on your latest work. Am I miss

Iben - As it turns out, there was a problem in that area, and your advice led me to recreate the graphic, and that solved the problem. However, that hasn't solved the other issue, form elements. Here's an example of a form when WB is off, and I'm using Windows Classic: http://www.kenefick.net/skins/newskinprob-off.gif Here's an example when I turn WB on...and the strange thing is, this happens with other skins as well: http://www.kenefick.net/skins/newskinprob-on.gif

I have heard great things about the Alienware laptops...and they come in more than black & grey. A little pricey, though. As I type this, I'm on a Dell Inspiron 7500, 512MB RAM, PIII 600MHz, with a crappy 8MB ATI Mobility-P video card. I'm running WindowBlinds, ObjectBar, Iconpackager, ObjectBar, SysMetrix and CursorXP at the same time with a MINOR hit in speed. In fact, it's so minor that I

I have an idea... If you allowed people ranked as Apprentice or better host skin files elsewhere, would that take a load off the bandwidth meter? I imagine that the number of problems it may cause pales in comparison to the three grand a month the freeloaders are costing you. Obviously you'd want to know you can trust a skinner before letting them distribute a file through your site, but once someone has created a reputation, the odds that they would want to ruin it by distrib

I've been watching Usenet...it's not there yet, but the new Windowblinds just got posted the other day with a crack. That could explain the influx of whining newbies who can't download three trillion terabytes of skins for free.

To clarify something about an ODNT subscription: You get access to ALL the software put up on ODNT, including alphas and betas, for one year. At the end of that year, your software still works forever, you just can't upgrade anymore unless you pay for a renewal license. The bang-for-your-buck factor is pretty high, if you enjoy skinning and changing the look and function of your Windows environment. And your software will ALWAYS work, it's not like it times out at the end of the year. <br

Karmagirl, you are right on...I try to tell people things like that and they just don;t get it. Mega-Corporations are just a collection of people trying to pay the bills with a rich guy calling the shots. Small companies like Stardock are the same, only without the rich guy. They're just PEOPLE, trying to pay the rent, so if you expect value-added service, PAY THEM. Otherwise shut your pie-hole

Well, I checked...and there's no white specified there. It's weird. Is the 3-D controls section what controls the border of a workspace? That seems to be the crux of the problem...any workspace that is controlled by "Background - Window" shows up borderless...or rather the border is white, which makes it seem borderless on white pages/apps, etc. I was able to get a border around SOME things by correcting an error in my ComboBox bitmap. I'm either tired and not thinking straight or t

I've been all through every border color, etc...it;s driving me crazy! I have another example image: http://www.kenefick.net/skins/whiteline.gif There's a think white line sandwiched between the two grey sections...that is the border I'm looking to skin, that for some reason is coming up white. Anyone know what it is?

m4ch1n3g0d: The only reason i come to this site is because i wanted to get sysmetrix skins. Then why did you download 75MB worth of stuff? There aren't 75MB worth of sysmetrix skins. I think you're not being entorely truthful with us.

iwontpay spewed some stuff I would like to address: And how many p2p file sharing programs do you use on a regular basis? None, I'm not stupid. I don't like viruses. How many newsgroups do you visit each week? A lot. DO I go to Microsoft and demand support? No. Again...not stupid. I expect full service and support when I PAY FOR SOMETHING. Otherwise, I'm lucky if I get the damn thing to work, much less have a resource
