I guess I'll imagine the link between this and Gal Civ as very similar to Warhammer >>> Warhammer 40k or Warcraft >>> Starcraft, only backwards. Why not?

I'm sure they'll provide some solution in the future, as VC and WiiWare have the potential to get more and more popular with several great titles they just have to do that if they want to keep selling...
Well, 90% of the shitty titles you mention are Ubisoft. Hint: Don't trust Ubisoft's ports until they're proven to have improved (don't second guess, read up on them). Every system has an extremely high ratio of shovelware compared to the good titles available. The Playstation must have had actual THOUSANDS of titles, how many were worthy? 50? 100? If you had tried 10 of them and thought they sucked, would you dismiss basically a whole gen
I disagree, all the games in my list above are highly promising either parts of proven for their quality series or from respected developers who have shown they don't have the intention of mere fast cash ins. I'd say at least half of the titles will be must haves for any gamer as long as they're even remotely into the respected genres. Also, adding this little gem from Namco, this makes it the fourth game they're doing for the Wii. Two Tales of games, Sky Crawlers, and this one, <a hre
As a result of its E3 conference, Nintendo has been critiqued heavily over abandoning the hardcore gamer therefor here I am, once again playing the devil's advocate. I have to say I find that kind of response peculiar as Nintendo may actually have the largest selection of hardcore first party titles available, while the DS has been an outlet for niche hardcore titles like the dungeon crawling roguelike Etrian and Shiren series. Perhaps the problem is that even their serious games,
July 14, 2008: Nintendo's upcoming Wii™ MotionPlus accessory for the revolutionary Wii Remote™ controller again redefines game control, by more quickly and accurately reflecting motions in a 3-D space. The Wii MotionPlus accessory attaches to the end of the Wii Remote and, combined with the accelerometer and the sensor bar, allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player's arm position and orientation, providing players with an unmatched level of precision and immersion. These should be CHEAP. Like, Virtual Console kind of cheap at worst. Let's not forget they probably just paid a few people a few bucks for the rights to redistribute these with no other real cost... If they even paid anyone for some of these unsuported products from defunct companies and not just made some settlement in court to have the right to publish them or something. And they really shouldn't offer now free games on there, it's misleading for people who aren't in the know.
Oh well, I didn't know, I just made a blog via Impulse :P
It's not a thread, it is a blog. People tend to write their own opinion on those even if there are probably many other bloggers who have written their own opinion on the same subject. Thank you for your pointless contribution, that's also a part of blogging.
Well, yeah, it's just that Plimus seemed relatively popular, I recall at least four of the indie games I bought used it. I think Aquaria and Eschalon: Book I were two of them and they're pretty big games, especially Aquaria which I'd buy even if it came with a packet of bullcrap I guess. I actually went and complained about it in their forums, haha... But I thought I'd write about it here also.
I recently took part in some forum discussions regarding the development of modifications for various popular PC games, as people complained they don't make them like they used to. I'll quote myself here and while it might appear a bit disjointed since you can't really see what the other people were saying, it conveys my feelings on the subject perfectly. Let’s not be too quick to blame developers for the lack of quality projects. There are also several well developed HL2 mods,
I love independent developers' games. Or at least, I love many of them. My recent(ish) purchases include Styrateg, Depths of Peril, Noitu Love 2, Mount & Blade, Galactic Civilizations II (and expansions), Puzzle Quest, Trackmania United Forever, Noitu Love 2, Aquaria, Eschalon: Book I and Larva Mortus. My single major beef with several of these is this one. I'm really sorry, but I'm spoiled by Steam, Impulse and other digital distribution methods like Atari's d
Well, everyone's heard the big news by now. Diablo III then. It sure looks good. Blizzard have always been great at movies and they seem to deliver here also. Their website design is also top notch and this new one offers quite a few goodies for fans, the best of which is, I think, the journal area. So kudos for that also. There's a certain WoW vibe evident in the screenshots but during actual gameplay it's not so noticable and it maintains a nice, dark and gritty look even thoug
26th, my birthday
Just because one company follows one business plan doesn't mean another has to follow suit. In the end, if WoW is worth it to you, then you pay and play. If you think it's overpriced then you don't pay and don't play. Wishing for it to be free or something like that is silly... As for the other MMOs you mentioned, Anarchy Online and Shadowbane in particular, it makes sense that as they are much, much, MUCH less popular, the cost of running the required servers is also much, much, MUCH l
What was uncalled for? I don't think my first reply had something so uncalled for... And yes, that new metaphor would have been better, I suppose. As for the more recent posts here, I acknowledged I made a mistake, I thought Ninja had said something someone else did... Hope a moderator cleans this thread soon...
SoaSE Bioshock (Yay for System Shock successor!) Eschalon: Book One (Yay for indies!) Metroid Prime 3 Super Mario Galaxy Spore Unreal Tournament 3 (Mod heaven!) Erm... I was trying to reply to a diff thread... Gah made too many stupid posts for one day, I'm going to bed... Delete this...
Argh... I'm sorry about that it's a bit late here... I thought you had said what john did... Can someone delete the off topic posts (at least everything after Wraith's reply) to clean up the thread and keep it more on topic
Sigh, I guess we really can't drop it then... Work on your English, re-read the discussion (from my first reply here and downward I guess), and you'll see nothing about what I said makes you a scapegoat... And in case you can't bother doing that, I'll write what happened in six simple steps: 1 - Someone uses a "baby painting with fecal matter" metaphor about Ironclad's work 2 - I respond to that negatively 3 - You come up telling me I'm immature 4 - I respond saying nothing
Very underdeveloped as it stands. Some nice models, that's all there is to it currently, it's lacking in most any other aspect like maps, animations, content in general, oh and yeah, gameplay... It was probably a bad decision to drop their mod version and go for a stand alone release as that meant they didn't have a solid gameplay base to work off of and instead had to build that themselves... They haven't been doing so well so far...
Oh well, fight fire with fire. I thought that comparison was overreacting, therefor I pointed out as much, just as you and Ninja feel like pointing out what you think I'm doing... Can we drop it now?
So first you tell me I should grow up then you agree that the comparison I pointed out really was over the top... Maybe you should take your own advice and properly read a discussion before posting a comment that you more or less contradict on your next reply... Anyway thanks for caring but I really don't feel I posted anything immature.
Eh, some decent points on here but I fail to see why you have to bitch so much about the representation of the galaxies... It looks good to me and I'm sure others feel the same, and while it may or may not appeal to you it still makes you look like a total asshole if you compare it to a baby painting with its own fecal matter. You could have simply said you hate how they have done it and left it at that. Anyway... Customisability is good, but you should just wait and see if the game Iro
End of March eh? I might still pre-order then, it will give me about a month of play time before I join the army... Great guide, loving the new screenshots, especially considering they are supposed to be what low-end computer owners will be seeing.
