You can do something like this by assigning Rally Points on the map, then using the Governor screen to tell ships with no destination where to proceed. I usually make a "Ship Yard" rally point near my home planet, and send leftover ships there.

"...well, they wanted some more land" Say that to someone who lived in one of the European countries overrun by Germany during WWII and see how long it takes for them to punch you in the nose. Then read up on your history of the Third Reich.
One feature I like is being able to build custom races for opponents. This opens a possibility of creating races who use elements of your own gaming style. You could have games where you're basically playing against opponents whose strategies are variations of your own, which could help you find weaknesses in your own style of play.
Any information the game gives you which relates to military, economy or science comparisons is never somthing to be taken seriously. You may have a point, this is the same robotic technology that thinks going "millions and millions" of miles is a greater accomplishment than traveling lightyears in the same amount of time.
My own pet peeve on these forums is "moral" versus "morale". One I see all the time on RPG forums-- "rouge" instead of rogue.
Thanks, I made that several years ago. As I remember, the ship was very close to the planet, and I had to turn shadows off on one of the lights to keep from ruining the illusion.
It would depend on your software. With Animation: Master, which I use, it means applying the rendered planet to a spherical object as a decal. UV mapping would be easier I suppose, as I have to do 2 renders from each pole, and then hope they match up properly. Sometimes I cheat by just decaling a half sphere, since I rarely show the entire planet in a sequence. Here's how it looks in action. Please right click and save to your desktop for best results (and to conserve my bandwith).<
I think the learning curve for new players could be easier if the tutorials were interactive within the game engine, rather than reducing the student to watching a series of videos, which are somewhat like listening to a professor's lecture. A hands-on tutorial would be an improvement.
Grammar nazis are everywhere. At a site I moderate, we have one guy who's an editor like yourself, and he will often wind up making a single post to chastise someone else's post. I suppose it's in the genes. I normally try to make sure my spelling is correct by looking it up in Webster's-- I'm not a big fan of spellcheck software. I'm a bit more lax when it comes to grammar, as my regional dialect is f
First example was with the zoomable tech tree. At one of the settings, it didn't quite line up in the box properly. In the second example, this seems a peculiarity in phrasing. My military strength is 205, but the enemy's is ONLY 215? Since it's the higher number, it would seem the intensifier is either unneccessary, or should be under my strength, since it's the lesser of the two numbers. The dialogue occurred when the game reported that the enemy would not be able to sustain the w
I thought I recognized LunarCell in those, I've used it for years with Paint Shop Pro. Here are a few frame stills from some past movie projects I did. I made the planets by doing a polar north render in LunarCell, then applying the texture to a sphere to represent the planet. Then in the animation, I rotated the sphere so it looked like the planet was moving. <img src="http://img294.imageshack.us/img
Afterall, a small jet fighter can deal a huge amount of damage to a big ship like aircraft carriers, so why can't it be the same here. On-board power source perhaps? A fighter isn't necessarily going to have the same amount of firepower as an **rcr*ft c*rr**r.
Dark Avatar is still a work in progress, so you'll be able to help the development team by informing them of bugs you find while playing and help them ready it for the February release. If you find problems in Dark Avatar, note it in the Beta Reports forum.
Am I taking crazy pills or does this make very little sense and also seem to be missing some comas, maybe? "This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you h
So they sell more ethnic seasoning in your area than in years past? Yeah, hot jalapenos and green sauce served on everything really aggravates my ulcer. It was about 3 a.m.when I wrote that and hadn't been to bed yet. I should have used "mix" or "bal
Yeah, probably should have done that. I always delete my old saved games. What I didn't understand is why a custom race not used as an opponent displays, but one that was previously an opponent and then deselected disappeared for the next game, even though the file is still there. I tried sending both files to the recycle bin and then restoring them, but it didn't change how the game currently sees them.
Create a system of trade both within the empire itself and externally... I'd like to see some sort of internal economics between the planets of one's own empire, it makes sense. Though those who think there's too much micromanagement already might fuss.
First time I tried a game under beta2A, my custom race had been a selected opponent in an earlier game, and I deselected them when starting my first game under 2A. Now, starting my second game under 2A, even though the .customrace file for them still exists, they are not displaying as a selectable race. Do I need to recreate them for the new beta build? An unselected custom race that previously existed was displaying properly.
Your graphics driver is 2 years old for one thing.
What's the estimated turnaround between submission and approvals lately? I submitted a zip called aliengirl_xyz.zip on 11 December, and it appeared to take it after about 3 attempts.
I moderated at a small 3d art site, and this place is relatively mild compared to it. Get a core group of 50 artist members with their prima donna egos flaming each other, and then you've really got something. The only times we had to ban people were when they started sending rather questionable pm's to other members. Then again, we weren't running an 'all audiences' site, if you get my drift.
d00d no way! haven't you ever seen Monty Python in the Holy Grail? Yeah I recognized the reference, but was trying to think in 23rd century terms.
How in the world would you propose to launch a cow out of a weapon of some sort? First, you need a very large meat grinder...
Which fuel would be good for hyperdrive, ion drive, warp engines? It's scifi, Stardock could invent any phony fuel name and say it's that. Kryonium, Wardellite, etc.
