If the big selling point is how much easier it will make gaming, I'm not at all convinced that Vista is ever going to be right for me. I do more than play games, I try to create "art" using 3d animation programs. How is Vista going to be a benefit for me with that? If all the hype is about how much easier it makes gaming, where does that leave the consumer who actually does something productive? If this is Bill Gates' idea of progress, by appealing only to gamers, he has his head further up h

Who is Carl Sagan? Here's a brief bio on him from Wikipedia. Carl Sagan
Looks the same as Mumbles' to me too. I first visited these forums in mid-late October, so if the format was changed before then, something didn't take.
That may be what it is, as I had reached at least the first level of miniaturization.
Exactly, I saw them in the 'previous autosave' file, but not when I loaded the more recent 'autosave' file. Sorry for not making that more clear, it was about 4am when I posted that.
Running the beta patch that was available the evening of 22 December. Got hit with the event where you have to research the cure for a disease. One autosave happened before it, and a second autosave happened after it fired. The two files are about a minute apart. When I was preparing to switch ship constructions on my planets, 3 of my 4 designs had disappeared, even though I have 'save ships to hard disk' checked. Is this a bug, or a side effect of the diseas
Well not seeing anything other than what I've initiated myself today. I'd installed one other program today, and I think tonight's update may be the first one I've done since putting in IE7, nothing seems to be running that shouldn't or causing unusual CPU usage.
yes And they use their secret feminine wiles to lure their husbands away from the game.
Just dl'd the updates and got a message at the end saying they won't take affect until the computer reboots. Are these updates altering the system registry?
If I remember correctly, when we were that age we were pretty much the same, at least I was. I think we all were. Commonly attributed to Mark Twain, but no verifiable records that he actually ever said it: <TD class="mb-Body-Quote-Text"
I'll be 56 next month. Married, divorced, no kids. I tend to agree with GW regarding vanity. My dad was bald before he was my age, but I still have my hair, and most of it is the original color. After being injured in a pedestrian accident (run into by a pickup truck while in a crosswalk), and a stroke a few years ago, I can't work anymore but I think of it as early retirement-- I have a little money coming in, and I have an obscene amount of free time to indulge my hobbies. Oh and
Right click to release the part from the mouse, if you don't won't to apply it anywhere else. Left clicking will apply it to one of the red hardpoints that will be showing on the hull.
I saw that Anonymous H thing around the time I made my earlier post in this thread. In the 'grammar nazi' thread, there's a post by 'Jennifer1 not logged in', where if you check the profile, you get taken to your own profile.
I was getting that error a few minutes ago. It also seems like there are a lot visitors logging on sometimes, I've seen it hit over 2000 at least once, and it makes me wonder how many of those are actual people and how many are bot spiders.
I installed IE7 a couple of weeks ago, and I found the tabs annoying since I always wound up closing down the entire browser by accident instead of the specific page. So I'm ruling out Firefox if that's supposed to be a great feature. Tabs seem to be an alternative to opening a page in a new window, with IE7 you have the original option of opening in new window, or in a tab. <td class
Yes, I doubleclick on the improvement to get it to plop the improvement down and then it automatically moves to the next available tile. This only places the improvement, it doesn't auto-buy it. And I stand corrected about it automatically coming up with a lit Buy. This time when I tested it, it cycled back to the first one placed with an option to Demolish. I then had to click on the desired tile itself to get the Buy light to appear. However, I'm fairly certain you can do all you need to
I just tried what you described, but I can't confirm it. I assigned only factories to the home planet until all available spaces were filled. It then automatically returned to the first factory I placed and the Buy button had lit up. I know I've never had to go to the next planet and back again, as I've always simply clicked another square on the planet's map, then selected the particular improvement I wanted to buy. I'm running Beta 2A.
More like a minor race finding Dread Lord ships, tossing a few cold ones back and zooming into space. This is a very apt description of what happened when humans discovered the artifacts of the Heechee in Fred Pohl's novels.
Hmm, I'm not seeing Dread Lords at all, maybe it's because I haven't gone through the campaign and have been mostly doing sandbox setups. I'm getting the Iconians, but I assume that's a separate animal.

What do you do in the wintertime when the sun gets cold? That's when all those who live in Minnesota come down here to Arizona.
* sorry, double post. seems you have to wait a few minutes before edit button appears * And I see in my haste I messed up the comparison, I meant to say "Why is it fashion police instead of..."
Think about it, when someone says "nazi" you think holocaust. Actually, I don't. I think the real problems the word Nazi has is its association with Hitler the man more than anything else. One thing I don't always follow about current catchphrases, is how sometimes different words are used as descriptive of similar behavior. Wh
Plus, even if GC2's player base converts to DA, the franchise is still alive. After all, how many people played vanilla [your favorite big name title here] after its expansion came out?
However, Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits might argue with you.
