jag-gurt shots all around! Drinks (is it a drink?) on me, my holiday starts today! Actually the holiday I'm about to have is the longest I've had for 12 years. That's a good reason to exercise some cultured devouring of alcoholic beverages! Might even grab a yogurt on the way home...

Yeah, I still don't know how the idea to mix jager with yogurt popped into my mind... but I don't regret it! I still think it's a great mix, but the yogurt plays a big role in the taste though. I think the original was raspberry and some other berry mixed, with a very strong sweet flavour... I've never manag

About to hit The Big 30 soon. Happy to be married and be blessed with 2 kids. Unhappy at not having enough time for great computer games like GC2...

About absinthe, I really recommend to try it out (not in too big doses, and not if you're under 18! ) as it really does some strange tricks to your mind & body, quite unlike any other alcohol drinks. At least that's the experience me and people I know have had. I think the <A href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T

Not sure if I'm a qualified drinker anymore, the ever-worsening hangovers and family life has been toning down my drinking habits considerably... but anyway, I don't mind a cool bottle of beer now and then I live in Finland, so I've mostly consumed finnish lagers, for the sole reason they're the most affordable here... nothing much to say on them, not exceptional, not bad, they'll make you drunk

On a related note, going from DL 1.2 gigantic map to DA 1.6 medium map, I see far fewer galactic resources. Is this due to the change from DL 1.2 -> DA 1.6 or gigantic -> medium map? For example, I think there were 19 galactic resources in my last Metaverse game (DL 1.2 gigantic) but in my current DA 1.6 medium game I see 2 economic, 2 influence, 0 military, 2 morale, and 1 research for a total of 7. Yeah, I think I might have been a bit hasty in my jud

OK, tried on medium map again, abundant everything, same settings as the las t huge map. Result: no bonus tiles everywhere. Something fishy going on in here...

I just encountered the problem that has apparently happened to other people too: Bonus tiles gone? Played a game on gigantic 1.6Final => normal spread of bonus tiles in the universe. Played another game on medium 1.6Final => no bonus tiles anywhere except on homeworlds.

Ok...after 3 more DA games on different map sizes I am again seeing bonus tiles!! So, I assume that the couple post-patch games yesterday without tiles were just some map generation bad luck. I don't think it's just bad luck. I played a gigantic map game, got normal spread of bonus tiles. Then I started a medium map game => no bonus tiles anywhere, only on homeworlds... both games were played on 1.6Final. <br

Hope you have read this thread: Labs, factories and focus The "All Labs/Factories" approach (ab)uses the game mechanic in a way that doesn't quite make sense, at least in my opinion. Yes, I know it's costly and difficult strategy to accomplish, but it just doesn't sound like the economy sliders are working like they should be when this kind of trick is possible. He wants to have his cake and eat it too. Ofcourse! Especially if it's strawberry cake, mmmmm.... The thing I'm trying to accomplish with my modding attempt, is to try to balance defense & weapon modules in a such manner that random bad rolls wouldn't have such big chance of destroying very high defense ships, especially when facing

Big ships are able to carry more armor modules. If armor modules would add HPs, big ships would have considerably more HP, and thus would be more difficult to destroy with all-attack packed fighters. But I'm just ranting and might be wrong as I haven't done any testing at all! Maybe we're better off if we wait and see what Brad will come up for Dark Avatar, I already aroused some discussion on the combat system in some DA thread <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile

Yeah I know I can do that, but that wouldn't really solve any problems related to the problems with defense... (endgame weapons reducing even a high-defense ships to dust if youy get a bad roll etc.) With HP-increasing techs, full attack ships would gain the benefits too, which would make them even more viable, which isn't quite what I'm aiming for.

Is it possible to mod ship components to add HP to the ship? Was thinking to try to beef up defense modules a bit, but can't see a way to make them add hit points

Because nobody wants to have to build multiple morale buildings, they are considered a necessary evil. Taking away the morale bonus on stock exchanges, means you can build less of them because you will need more morale buildings to make up for those lost morale bonuses. So it is just one more thing to hurt the economy since we will not be able to build as many economy buil

I believe the changes since 1.2 stifle creativity of the players so that eventually there will be only one viable way to develop a planet. Saying in effect: "Develop your planets the way we think you should, or else we will change things so you have to." But you're telling the game designer now that they should keep the game unchanged, so that y

The fleet of fighters would pack more punch per round but the hull ships would be able to take a bigger beating. There's so many factors to take into account (the time to research the corresponding techs, the "wastage" on building fighters -- i.e. can't build more than 1 fighter per turn, the "wastage" of a shot from a capital ship on a fighter -- a shot that does 20 damag
