Same or similar issue. Base game, latest non-beta version. Four transports in a fleet. Population 9 in each. Moved them to a starbase to keep them out of the way and safe. About 20-30 turns and at least one save/load game cycle later, when they left the starbase (perhaps) they all had no population showing, which I discovered when I tried to use them to invade a planet. Going to go test now if they can have any more population loaded back on them from a friendly planet. <

On the purchase page , it states: "Multiplayer Notice: Please note that the GOG Galaxy Client is required to access Multiplayer" I'd suggest start by looking for that on GOG. I wish I'd known it was going to be released on GOG, as I originally purchased it direct from Stardock to try and avoid Steam for it and ended up just being given a steam key anyway.
I'd really like to try this as well (especially the pirate fix, my current game has dozens of pirate shipyards doing nothing). Will someone who is successfully using it let the rest of us know how you did so? i.e. did it just show up on your beta list, did you put in a beta code,or what? I have the same issue as BuckGodot reported above.
Can you post the files that need to be deleted in order for the update to succeed? I sent an email to [email protected] yesterday, but haven't even gotten the promised auto-response ticket yet. I know that the lack of response is not an anti-spam problem because I also happen to run the email server and checked the logs to see if the email had been accepted and if a response had been attempted or not. I'll try also using the online form, but the problem seems pretty widespre
