When I invade a planet there is no background in the invasion screen. In other worda I can see the planet's texture that my troops are standing on but not the trees and mountains that are meant to be behind them.
Lovely lighting, makes the planets really seem to belong. What happens if the stars are very close together? e.g. Star-Planet-Star

Small and Tiny look similar and they are space wise too. Medium looks nothing like a small ship.
Trade seems like the best option at the moment although the tax thing seems to have been over-nerfed (I'm not saying it didn't need nerfing).

Galciv is one of the few games that i have never been tempted to pirate. It is a funny thought that if ever i did pirate a game, it would be 'after' buying it!! Why?? Because who want's to stuff around with disks? certainly not me! Actually it's imposable to pirate a game by doing what you have said. You need to download it without purchase or spread the game illegally.
Cheats are not for wimps and sore losers but those tempted by power. They do ruin all the fun and you will quickly stop playing after using them.
I have to admit I too was going to pirate this game, however if I truly enjoy a game and it has great value to time ratio I will buy it. A patched game is always a much better way to view a game than just a bog-standard demo (glad to see your updating it). I too saw how much it was being updated and decided I had to see what was going on. So glad I did.
It is way too easy to get elected on even the tough difficulty.
