Actually you can select individual pips but it is quite tedious and I always keep forgeting the buttom to sort more efficiently.

Oh I definetly agree, the first time I heard the Pirate Alarm thing I thought my computer encountered somekind of error. Freaked me out for a few minutes, didn't help at all, cuase *gasp* I can read without annoying noises.

a 'Phase Probe' which would basically go to a targetting phase jump lane in the system and scout the other end briefly. That might step on the scout ship's role, but you wouldn't be spamming these ships, you might have 1 in a big fleet just for the scouting support and missile defense. Vasari ability that I quite certain of, they can already send false signals down phase lanes. Plus thats what you have scouts for.

They announcement will get better, right now they are very generalized and clumped together, cause all the sound files and programing for individual scenarios aren't in yet.
