Just thought that I would have a peek at the 47 WindowBlinds listed in the GUI Championships for 2006. I downloaded about half a dozen just of them for a better appreciation and soon discovered that, according to my security suite, both FROIS - 01 and VVA both downloaded with the W32/HLLP.Philis.ini virus onboard. Needless to say my security suite promptly removed both. Just thought I would bring it to your attention.
Ok,firstI must appologise for not being specific as to which titanium skin I had downloaded (I did not realise that there were four available) The one in question is titanium (author arnold)370KB Yes I did download it from Wincustomize although not through the SD Central browser. I have tried re-downloading it again and it is still including the same PUP which I have,of course safely deleted. I have not checked the other "titanium4" skin by arnold to see if that is the same.
I downloaded the WB "Titanium" skin today and my security suite immediately informed me that I had installed a PUP onto the system. Running a complete security scan I discovered that the PUP was "Reboot-E" and that it was indeed contained within the WB Titanium folder. Secure deletion and a rescan appear to have removed all evidence. Has anyone else come across this? If not then beware!!!
Is it possible to set up Window Blinds to automatically change a couple of the per application skins, say Firefox and Thunderbird, when you change the main WB skin.
Ok;So I downloaded the ResHacker Prog and the help file.(and read it) All I need now is help to understand the help file. Someone with a brighter torch or flashlight or Appalachian lamp cos the help file scared the proverbial **** out of me!!!
I have been having an enormous amount of fun with Window Blinds/Cursors/Icons/Wallpapers and Log on screens.(I am afraid the Boot Screen programme and my computer just do not like each other and I have given up on that one) but what I would dearly like to change is the Windows Searching Torch. To my mind it is cheap, tacky, looks awful and is generally annoying. Reminds me of an usherette down my local cinema house about thirty years ago. Can this be chan
Thanks again Fairyy~ I can confirm that your solutuion has worked for every skin that was giving me problems
Thanks Fairyy~ I do not know if it will work for all but your suggestion has certainly worked for the skin I was trying to use.
I have tried out a good number of skins and find that with some the System Tray is left blank with no icons in it. Is there a remedy in to this or is it just that some skins are designed that way?
