ah! finally it's going to let me post again - have been waiting 3 days for it to allow me to Scott: Ah ha. Then for #6: In that case it's the saving that's causing that slowdown. I implimented an improved saving system in ObjectDock which speeds up the saving process *considerably*, hopfully I can get that system going in OB as well

Hey Guys, Thanks a lot for the great feedback. I was able to put together a nice todo list for myself based on your feedback, here's a batch of replies: Scott: 1) Still is making bar's background white for Developer object bar theme. good news, v1.11 coming out this week should take care of this problem
Hey guys, I been focused making major strides on other projects for the last week and a half hence why I haven't been around to look more closly. Never heard of this one before this thread came about. I did take a look at the issue you've been reporting however and wonder which is the problem, the list isn't getting drawn correctly, or there's nothing getting put in there at all. I hear that it was said that: "i have never succeeded in configu
that belongs to the vector cell group of themes i believe....
this problem should be taken care of in v1.1, i definitely was able to reprodue the issue especially when tab magnification was used. Additionally I found i wasn't giving enough space on either end of the text on the tabs in that particular version. 1.1 takes care of it. Any reports from the field? -Jeff

pleeeeeaseee nooooooo alpha blended skins there are tons of people like me out there with graphics cards that just can't cut running WindowFX and the shadows and whatnot, all those alphablended windows slows our systems to a crawl. Net result of allowing alphablended skins is that few wi
great article brad, very good info. long live skinning!!!
Hi lesoneil, This is usually the result of a virus scanner trying to continually scan OB's config file while it is saving due to its method of saving configuration data (i use standard windows ini writing functions, which are poorly designed) In January I will be writing a custom saving system that should fix up this problem -Jeff ObjectDock Deve
CerebroJD, look in the advanced options, you can turn off the tabbed dock zooming animation there if its too much for ya tabs on 2 edges eh? hah that'd be nuts

Update: Figured it out! In the next release, AlwaysOnTop and AlwaysOnBottom docks (and tabbed docks) will no longer be hidden when WinKey+D is pressed (There is an option to return to the old behavior of them hiding in the advanced options) Sometime in January for the next "official", however early next week we're hoping to get a "beta" of it out on Stardoc
Hi Maralahal, No, currently there's nothing that can be done about the docks hiding when "Show Desktop" is pressed. We're looking into seeing if there is a way to get around that though, we'll have to see what turns up Thanks I'm glad you're enjoying OD+
Mannlister: hold any modifier key (e.g. hold control or shift or alt) when clicking a folder in a flyout menu to have the folder just open rather than fly it out
Yep, it will definitely have the ability to use the current WB skin. If that doesn't make it into the first beta which is may not, i can say for sure that it will be in the second.
so the IPod is fully capable of transfer with other programs other than apple's own, but they're going to go out of their way so that if they buy one thing from apple, they have to buy everything from apple. Control the whole vertical market. Might not be the most plugged in person in the debate, but sounds like some pretty serious anti-competitive behavior to me.
Corky_O: 1) yes you can have multiple non-tabbed docks and 2) yep old skins can be used in the new version on the new tabbed docks... if the skin doesn't provide tabs of its own the default will be used. Also, a new skinning guide has been made available with the program to help artists along with the new abilities. - hah and thanks everyone for the backing, yeah you definitel
reply to macrobaye, > It looks like Apple's dock, to the pixel. Now you can congratulate your developers for making a perfect copy, > or you can admit that you took the look/design/fuction of Apple's dock and turned it into software for the PC, > that you currently make money off of. incorrect. we make 0 dollars off ObjectDock. Actually, the project has been in works as a technology demo as far back as 1999. I personally have spent months and months of my life working
