Haha kinda ironic, I first saw this new post not by browsing WinCustomize, but by playing with the new RSS-Feed feature while preparing a new build of RightClick (which is based off of ObjectBar2). A "oh! hey cool its out!" moment. Hah ah well. Hope everyone enjoys this new build, let us know what you think on the boards! -Jeff Bargmann (ObjectBar Deve

Hi everyone. We have a good solution in place for x64 for the taskbar, and hope to put out a helper program that you will just put in the same folder as ObjectDock to allow it to make necessary adaptions. System tray support however, is significantly more difficult to workaround ; haven't come up with a workable solution yet. The problem is, x64 creates heavy complications for programs that interact with other applications on the

are left/rigth arrows visible on either boundry of the flyout? mouseovering them should rotate the flyout, but if they're missing then files may be missing from the installation

Hi everyone, Something for you to try out... I hid a secret flag in your "Settings.ini" file which you can find in your "C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USERNAME_HERE\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus" folder. Shut down ObjectDock, then in the [Settings] area of the ini, look for: OptimizeForSpeed=0 and change it to: OptimizeForSpeed=1 Make the change, load bac

Hi Craig, Well there's good news. I had been fighting with the "losing items" issue with RightClick for some time, but just yesturday I found a source of the problem and was able to repair it! I'm expecting that that was the only source, and thus we'll see the end of this very troubling problem. The submenu issue is still being looked in to, we're going to give it some more shots before releasing a build with that former fix. As

hey guys. yes, those tabs at the bottom are in fact ObjectBar, not ObjectDock. ObjectDock's tabs are organized as a solid unit. In that screenshot from the first post, there are tabs all over the bottom of the screen that open up seperatly. What's going on there are just a bunch of ObjectBar bars set to autohide with a alien-menu skin Currently, ObjectDock+ is able to display labels underneath icons only, not to the left/right of them. This may be something we enchance on in

Hi Chris, Well lets see. I added more sophisticated "hang-checking"; part of that timeout-sends a WM_NULL message to the window. Windows are not supposed to repond to a WM_NULL message by its definition, so hopfully his windows are not. That's all the correspondance that goes on however. Other than that, it's property setting and deferwindowpos. This does happen with the VWM set to each of the modes right?Hopfully Judge can shed something of light on this.

Chris TH: Not sure Chris, you might want to ask the author of that app. The virtual desktops don't ever generate any keystrokes or fake-send messages to any apps, etc. Other than hiding/showing/moving them around of course. But in the docklets case, this shouldn't matter. Might want to ask the author what other than the actual keycombo (if, say, you disable the key combo altogether) could cause this. -

Hi cmuggle, Actually, for various reasons the decision was made to not include Virtual Desktops as an option within RightClick. We are planning on having a docklet to control an already-open copy of the virtual desktops (e.g. if you have it open in the windows taskbar or in ObjectBar already), but it will only be able to switch between desktops and show you which desktop you're on, not show replicas mini-walls etc etc like in the toolbar-ver

KenF: the problem of not being able to change the background from the default was part of the same problem as "only 3 desktops". It would constantly overwrite the background for desktops 2 and 3 with the default. If you're having a problem of the background not changing at *all*, you'll want to (1) do the registry update I mentioned above, and then (2) ensure that the options for Stardock Virtual Desktops is setup to do what you want it to do. Update! I figured it out. Small glitch involving the new defaults we put in. Sorry for keeping you in limbo for a few days. I'll get a fix out ASAP. In the mean time you can fix it for yourself by creating a "vwmfix.reg" file with what i'll show below as its contents. Load it into your registry and the problem will be fixed. The problem occurs for this group of people: (1) SVD was already installed before this new version was updated (2) The

Hi everyone, I'm Jeff the developer of SVD. Well! This thread was brought to my attention yesturday, so I spent time looking through the code looking for anything that could cause this to happen. No results thus far, so I'll ask for some more detail if I could. Now being "unable to add desktops"... if you click "Add" when on the desktops configuring pane of the configuration it should immediatly add a desktop to the list above. From there yo

Noted. Ok, well, programmatically the behavior is correct. When one calls to actually make a window flash, they specify a maximum duration. So, eventually the window does in fact usually stop "flashing". I'll see if theres anything I can do to detect a window that was flashing but hasn't been activated, I've noted it in the todo log. Thanks again

Hi mbryan822, After reading your post I looked into making sure this feature still was functioning correctly. The good news is it would appear as if its still working just fine, I'm using the most recent v1.1a. Hopefully there's no problem specific to your computer that we're seeing, but assuming not lets give this a try. Just for the sake of it we'll create a brand new "Folder Menu" entry on your bar instead of configuring the existing one.

Hi Vercetti: Currently there is no way to modify the duration of the attention effect in ObjectDock. A first thought is that perhaps in the future the number of times the attention effect is played can be editable, but in general it will keep playing while the window is requesting the focus anyways. The speed is not configurable currently either, but would probably do for you what you're looking for. Its not top of the priority list, but I c

I Am Pariah: Perhaps it was negligent of me to not ask any troubleshoot questions on the initial post I apologize. Though I do still contest that I had some case in being defensive. Trouble is, I'm very aware that there's nothing within the program that can do something like that. Additionally nothing has changed that would worsen any potential risk of described problems - to my knowledge the installer hasn't had changes to it from prior rel

I Am Pariah: I can assure that ObjectDock does not have any architecture that would interfere with the execution and normal operation of other programs, barring video card driver issues which would still not cause the kind of thing you're describing. It does not modify system DLL's upon installation. I would recommend inspecting other areas of your system. -Jeff Bargmann ObjectDock Developer

Citizen Babolene: there's a decently large chance your problem is being caused by either a docklet, or by the same problem that we've been seeing involving IconPackager 3. Please refer to my response in recent threads regarding problems with ObjectDock starting or problems dragging icons and follow the steps there to see if that helps. Let me know how it goes for you, thanks -Jeff Bargmann ObjectDock Developer

Brenton Strachan: i'm not aware of this issue, but i'm glad you found a workaround for the time being. I'll check to see if there's anything I can find that could be allowing that kind of thing to happen. In the mean time if you want to keep having ObjectDock run at startup, try just copying a shortcut to it to the startup folders on the programs menu. Not sure if that'll bring back the original problem you were having, but its worth a shot.

Daniel: Excellent call!! We just found this out ourselves earlier this week. Here's the official resposne I'm passing around, for anyone reading this thread. ----------- We've found potential for the latest beta of IconPackager3 to interfere with ObjectDock, causing ObjectDock to not be able to drag, and in some cases not even start up correctly. We've found potential for the latest beta of IconPackager3 to interfere with ObjectDock, causing ObjectDock to not be able to drag, and in some cases not even start up correctly. This will be fixed in the next IconPackager release, but before that happens I have also worked around the interference in the next upcoming ObjectDock release. In the mean time, you can try unregistering a helper dll IP3 uses, note it may cause a small degree of ha
