Most of those ideas are awesome but look like they would take a hell of a long time to implement.

Ah, I feel so sorry for trolls...
Yes, and it does speed up again, (unitl about 30 turns later when it slows up) which makes me think it may be a coding problem, i.e. a group of pointers being allocated every turn and they just forgot to delete them.
bump....
After planning a game on a gigantic galaxy, with abudant planets and stars, it tended to slow up after playing in about mid-game , which I took to be because of the fact the game had to managage an enourmous amount of planets and 9 races as well. But when I played on a large galaxy, with planets and stars set to rare, the same thing happened. After playing for some time the frame rate dropped considerabiliy, and the game was also very slow. The interesting thing however, was this has only happe
This has happened to me before... Try reloading the game several times, and if that doesn't work, load one of the auto saves
It also depends on what race the enemy planets are. The Thalans for instance are resistant to cultural takeover
Also being an Alpha Centauri fan, I like the idea, though it may be to much work on the devs, cause I have no idea how they coded the diplomancy text. It probably would require a patch, and not a just user mod.
Yeah this happened to me to those dirty Thalans.... Wisp wasn't much of a loss though, only class 3
