I would rather see everything, including the mouse buttons, configurable. I don't use the mouse to pan, it just feels weird to me. However, my keyboard is really non-standard (Kinesis Contour) and it has a 7" gap between the right and left sides of the keyboard, and the horizontal cursors are on the left and vertical on the right :) i would most likely use WASD to scroll, and remap the W commands to Backspace. Yeah, weird and non-standard.

My first impressions: It runs ok, but feels a bit clunky (to be expected with the age of my machine). There needs to be more resolutions defined (like 1920x1200). Please allow us to remap keys (like panning). It sucks to have to work instead of playing more.
I love physical releases myself. If we did one, it would be a collectors edition for people who already had the game and wanted more.
I love my Sins Rebellion Collectors Edition (especially the Kol Battleship). If you did something like that, I'd just end up throwing my money at the monitor again.
That video was incredible and made me feel all tingly inside. This game might be the thing that pushes me to finally upgrade from my i7-940 :P
I had issues up until yesterday, when it worked. Brad, the concept art is doing nothing to dampen my excitement for the game, in fact the wait is more painful than before. It is like every day is the day before Christmas while waiting for new information.
A minimap is better than zoomed out because it is always visible on your screen. If you are zoomed in on one area, you can still keep and eye on the other battles going on and quickly change locations if you need to address another location. Without a minimap, you will be zooming in and out an awful lot to try to keep an eye on everything. Having the minimap and then fully zoomed out to be a full screen minimap would be awesome, but thinking a minimap is useless is incorre
As far as I'm concerned, length of the average game does not really matter as long as we are able to save the game, both single-player and multiplayer. Sometimes real life happens at the most annoying times. I agree that transport vehicles (think C-17 or CH-47 in modern day) would help with the moving across the map.
I know the first thing I think of when playing a game with hyperdrives, instantaneous communication, alien species, sentient robots, and rapid colonization of alien worlds is 'Oh man, weapon sounds in space! This game is so fake!'.
I don't recall anywhere saying steam would be required for this game. Did I miss a something somewhere?
Bottom of the store page: 'All game code will be delivered through Steam when available.'
If my 90 year old grandmother wants to play one of my games, she can, and anyone that says otherwise is a fool.
And using Steam Family Sharing, she can. As long as you aren't playing the same game. Otherwise, if you want two copies, buy two copies. Claiming to have worked in software, you should be smart enough to realize that.
I purchased Office2012, and indeed installed it on several computers. It's quite LOGICAL to assume EVERYONE would do this. Nobody is that much of a nerd to buy 5 copies for a home.
I totally recommend you call Microsoft, give them your name and address and tell them that. It is quite logical that they will gladly just give you another 4 licenses.
I haven't been this excited about a game in a very long time. Good job and congrats on the 20 years and this announcement. I can't even begin to imagine what the next two announcements are going to be if they are suppose to be bigger than this one.
