I agree with that that the AI really should value sensors more and especially the eyes of the univers wonder which is in the hand of a human player seriously overpowered (imho). Sensor techs are very cheap and give you an awesome advantage against the AI. Imho the AI value of 1 they currently have is ridiculous (sp?). I mean even ultra life support gets an AI value of 5, and I can't think of something which is more useless then that... the only other t

Yeah, I really don't get it why they made those starports undecommissionable (is that even a word? ) It's really annoying me seeing those starports cluttering up my newly acquired >PQ5 planets. I want to build research stuff there, not starships on a hundert planets. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" bord

*prepares to get flamed by the fanboy horde* This comment by strategist should give you enough info to ignore him. He's sadly nothing more then a Civ IV troll. ------ Ty playing the game at the "tough" difficulty. Several AI algorithms are deactivated on "normal" difficulty

Yes, they have to be freakishly rare, have seen dozens after dozens of precursor mines (700%) in my games now but never seen a precursor library. Makes me wonder if it really is there..

Imho the real life equivalent of GalCiv good is the ancient catholic inquisition. They're not good in the "we help everyone and let's just hug Lord Kona"-way but they're good in the "now follow our rules and orders of kindness or be obliterated" way of being good. (In other words, they're the religious right of our real world. If your with them: good. If you're not, well, you can begin praying very fast.)

I've also got the same problem as you. When playing a gigantic, everything abundant map it slows down the longer I play. After a few hours turns are taking more then a minute, engaging combat takes up to fifteen seconds and everything lags quite heavily. It even wrecked a save game of me when it crashed during the autosave and every other save I've made from this game was unloadable because of a crash while loading. <img src="http://images.stardock.co

LOL on my first normal dif. game I got a even with a 2head squairl and when I picked the good patch my approval went to 1 and nothing can change it. I put the tax to 0 and had the moral stuff on every tile still 1 this bug was hear in the first patch for the game and it is still here on 1.1 4B.18 Some

Imho the orbital terraformer is quite nice on larger maps, where you have lots of planets. Fifty times habitat improvement, soil enhancement and terraforming adds to some money. It also saves you some weeks when conquering planets.

Ok, thanks for your answers. I guess I will have to keep on trying then. Can you recommend a few basic researches so that I can start designing my own ships??? Well, that's imho quite easy to decide. Usually each new item you get with a new tech is superior to an older one, so just use the best stuff

Art for free or for less than its true value is PIRACY. You know, THAT didn't made any sense at all. Call to arms! Close the bunkers, open the armory, all battleships in formation, the Drengin

Good, now if they'd just clear out all the old scores so that everyone is on a level palying field, the metaverse might actually be close to respectable as a comparison of player skill. They will do something even better. All the old scores get recalculated based on the new system from patch 1.1. So n

Well, there is not really ship tree around of which I would knew, but there is also no need for one. The core designs all suck anyway. So, just design your own ships. Because: -they will be better -they will look better -they will feel better -and sometimes they will call you "mama" <br/

Well, dunno about the newest beta, but one of the most important things (imho) on suicidal is not to have a low military score. Yes, we all know that the military score says nothing about your real ability in battle, but the AI will declare war on you if you're lower then them in this score and the one thing you don't want to happen in a suicidal game is to have war declared on you. This sounds easier then it is, since the AI is

Hmm... that amount of content looks much better. Let's make it one new hull type per size and per race plus animated "blings" and we're set. This is the reason why I always have some full loaded troop transports hanging around my planets. Never know when those unappreciative minions of mine try a rebellion.

Nah, nah, nah. Don't start into a flame war. Personal attacks and flaming don't help you anything in a discussion. He may be a fanboy, but that doesn't warrant swearing. Ne? So, let's all make a group hugging. <img src="http://images.stardock.co

Great post Draginol, I completly agree with you. Nothing more annoying then a AI which is unable to understand certain aspects of a game and fails miserably because of that. I really think that the approach you're taking towards AI developement is unique in the current gaming world and issomething which makes this so game great.

Well, I don't like the idea about a ship pack at all. Imho those micro addons are a very bad idea. Unlike the Oblivion horse armor, GalCiv2 is as playable without any ship pack as it is with. It does not give any online user an advantage over another. You know that Oblivion also

P.S. Yeah I do try to piss people off so they will get so mad at me that they'll say "F this guy, I'm gonna make an AI that'll crush him!" Fuck this guy, I'll add him to my killfile.... What? No killfile on this forum? No ignore list? Well, that sucks. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
