In my recent games every single time I get war declared on me because I appear militarily weak. I have tried to change that but I still appear weak. Whats the fastest best way to appear militarily strong? Like if I have 6 fighters is that viewed as the same as 6 battleships? Just need a strategy to appear strong so other races won't attack me.

I have seen in many games where the Terrans are the powerhouse race in the game. I have seen many posts where the Terrans were the team to beat. If the humans are so underpowered then that should never happen.

I have been playing the game and do fairly well once I get established and rolling. I have a custom race of squirrels with very high deplomacy and influence (after all who could turn down a cute little squirrel) and I even used the Pacifist gov't to put influence through the roof. The problem I am having is that early in every game 1 or more races declares war on me. This last game even races that I had traded techs with and had a friendly r

One thing I have learned and seen first hand. If a game advertises on a site of magazine theny will get a decent to great review. If they don't then most will trash it especially the paper mags.

What I do is create a new hull design for each lvl of hulls. Then save that. Then in the game I add weapons and engines and defenses to it and then call it the same name with v1, v2 onj the end as I get better components. That way I can spend time making a cool looking ship that I can use every game as it has nothing but the hull.

My problem is early in the game some race like the Yor will ask for a high lvl tech and like 2000 bc for nothing. I reject it and next turn they declare war on me.

I have been playing and "thought" I had a winning strategy but as I get in higher lvl difficulty settings I have discovered the Ai counters that. I used to get the translator first and then go for trade and work on influence and diplomacy and trade and then wheh I was absorbing the galaxy with Influence and talking races into insanely unfair tech trades I would used my massive income to build large ships and mow down any would be foes. MonkeyLogic is correct. I had some medium ships that were getting beaten down by an onslaught of fighters but as soon as I added shields with fewer weapons then I started winning so you have to watch for that.

The AI purposely tries to mess you up. The AI doesn't lose graciously.....if your winning then the 1 team that you certainly don't want to get stronger will get the benefits. Thats why I use In fluence to win. I had a "Yor Incident" in my last game which was funny as I had 3 planets in 1 system and piled all my ships on the uber 26 tile planet. The Yor went after the 2 other planets and would fight and take both and they BOTH would literally flip back

I have played numerous games and made my custom team as strong as I could get it. I tried various things and settled on Diplomacy and Influence for the 2 abilties to max out or at least be close to maxed out. It seems with those 2 abilities you can't lose from what I have seen. You can talk you way out of wars, you can get way more tech than you give in trades, you can form alliances easier, you can get other races to do your bidding for you easier. Th

OK, I see my error. I thought I had seen people saying to win with conquest you had to attack fast. I see that was wrong and that was my problem as I attacked before my economy could support it. Plus having every other race declare war on me didn't help at an early stage of the game as then I needed a larger military to handle it.

I saw someone mention that they like to play against random opponents and I would like to as well but I don't see that option. Is that on the beta patch? I haven't upgraded since the patch seems to be full of bugs still.

This weekend I decided to witn a game going for a conquest victory out of the gate using the Drengi which I customized to make them a military juggernaut. I started out colonizing as fast as possible making most planets for production of ships on the boarders and the obes further back for research. I was doing great at first. I learned not to go evil too fast as all the other races declared war on me. <img src="smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="abs

The game certainly can't be said to be too easy. If you can beat it at the highest difficulty then make it harder. Play a 9 race game on a gigantic map and make the other 8 races a team all at war with you at the highest difficulty setting. If you can win that then you can say it's too easy.

I think I am going to flip another planet of theirs so the star bases arn't needed any more and then go all out with my precurser ships and heavy battleships to their capital and small colony at the same time while their fleets kill space stations that arn't needed and take a beating with the defenses to boot. Once they fall if I haven't won then I will crush the remaining races with my allies. Then me fellow squirrels will rule

I am in a game in a large galaxy with 9 races. The Game has come down to 2 sides now. My alliance group led by the Squirrel Empire from the planet Peanut and the other alliance led by the Torians . Now Militarily the Torians are just as powerful as I am. In fact they occupy the same space as me. I have managed to flip 2 plane

I did this one time without even trying in another game. In my current game I am trying to get a race to flip to me. They have some planets inside my spheres on influence. I have built several buildings for influence like that restaurant or whatever it is that can be only 1. I have all the influence stuff on nearby planets and I have researched a fair way up the cultural tree and in 1 case I have 5 influence starbases around 1 planet and all upgraded

I am been playing the game for about a week now so I am a noob. I really like it but have a question about Influence Starbases. I was in a game and a side I was not at war with was flooding my area with their Influence starbases making it hard to keep my people happy. So if I destroy them thats an act of war and if I make peace after then they rebuild them again and each time it gets harder to make peace. Is there any way to keep your "frien
