I was really excited to hear during the development process that Elemental ws being designed to be able to be run on netbooks. But my netbook only goes up to 1024 x 600 and Elemental won't run on anything less than 1024 x 768. Please add the ability to play at lower resolutions. I would think I shoul dbe ablt o play just fine in cloth map mode on my netbook, but Elemental won't even let me try. Thanks!

Is there any way to set the Auto Survey feature to ignore wormholes? I hate it when my ship is clearing out an area near my opponents before their ship can get the stuff near them and suddenly my ship enters a wormhole and ends up half way across the galaxy. Is there any way short of manually moving my survey ship to do this?

It could have been a random coincidence. I have privacy protection software that looks for things like the last four digits of my credit card numbers. Every once in a while a random number on the internet happens to match these four digits and it sets off alarms. For example, the forum ID for this message string is (ht tp://forums.galciv2.com/index.aspx?forumid=274&aid=116841) If my PIN happened to be 6841, my privacy software would give me an alarm as I posted this message.

I started tracking scores after my 12th game Taking the 5% aging rule into account (Thanks again Cari, that really helped me get the numbers to work right!), here are my scores and my resulting Metaverse score: Game: Total points: Metaverse Score: % 12: 86972: 43396: 50 13: 97780: 48890: 50 14: 112516: 56258: 50 15: 120744: 60371: 50 16: 128394: 4279

I think I have the Metaverse Scoring thing figured out. For your first five games: your score = the total points of all of your games. For games 6 though 15: your score = the total points of all of your games divided by 2. For games 16+: your score = the total points of all of your games divided by 3. Also if a game is over 30 days old, you lose 5% of your score for that game for every 30 days. So look out for your 6th and 16th games, they a

The general forumula is SumOfDepreciatedScores / NumberOfGames^4 Thanks for the info Cari! Do you have to play a certain number of games for this formula to work? If you take the very useful 5% depreciation into account the total nuber of points I have after 15 games is 120742. My Metaverse score is 60371 - exactly 5

I had this happen to me just last night. Invaded a Homeworld with 10 million people with 2,000 troop. The roll ended up being 25 to 5 in my favor. Net result 0 attackers left 0 defenders left. It was pretty funny when I landed another transport to see 2,000 vs 96 (apparently the 0 grew to 96 in two turns.)

If you do hit another score cliff, post at what point...Maybe with enough data points we can extrapolate a formula. It looks like 12 is a magic number. I just posted my 12th game and my metaverse score is only 49.67% of my total score of all my games. Through game 11 it was an even 50%.

I don't want full turn-by-turn, shot-by-shot tactical combat as much as I want to be able to pick which ships my fleet should target. For example: I have a fleet of big battleships with good attack and defence - they have a fleet of big battleships with good attack and defense and a few little all attack fighters. I want to be able to shoot at the battleships and to ignore the fighters, but instead, my battleships overkill the fighters first instead.

I'm guessing it will remain half my total until reaching eleven games. Then it will go to a third I just posted my 11th game. Still half of the total score.

I am a "legitimate threat" when I have less primary planets than 2 other races, the same number as 6 others, and one more than 1 race, and out of 9 races have killed off only 1 that did not attack me first, and 1 that did attack me first? It may not be that the computer sees you as a threat as much as it sees you as an opportunity. I know tha

Hello Stardock, Keep up all of the good work, GalCiv2 keeps getting better and better! All of my medals on this forum work fine except the difficulty medal. Mine still says "Challenging" even though I submitted 3 games on Challenging and 7 games on Tough. Shouldn't it have switched to "Tough" by now? I searched the forums and I've seen a few other posters indicate that they have the same problem. I know the others are working because I submitted my 10th game last ni

There is almost always an advantage to being among the first to play a game. If you started playing Everquest or World of Warcraft today you would never catch up to the highest level players, for example. Is that "fair"? You could also claim that it is not "fair" that some people have more time to play the game and therefore more time to submit games to the Metaverse than others. I'm afraid I have a mortgage to pay, so I need to go to work. Yet, I'm competing in the Metaverse a

I lurked on this board for a while, unsure if I wanted to buy this game since CIV4 was so much fun. After seeing Stardock's responsiveness and dedication, I bought GalCiv2. I haven't played CIV4 since. Good job Stardock, you are definitely the best in my humble opinion!

Does Ctrl-N affect your end score in a Metaverse game? If not, why not? I think you should play the hand you are dealt and go forward from there. I know that Stardock can see if Ctrl-N was used, so I would like to see that taken into account for your score. You should have a lower score if you restart the game again and again to get the perfect starting position. Thoughts?

StarWeb-- Did you ever play the Flying Buffalo PBM StarWeb game? It was a lot of fun. Still do. I've been at at least one of their games at any given moment for more than 15 years. While I love computer games, there is still something special about waiting two weeks to see the results of a turn versus more than a dozen other human opponents t

Now if you just want to upgrade that one particular fleet and not all ships of that type...well like you said, you have to disband, unstack and upgrade individually. I really hope they give us the option to upgrade the ships in just one fleet in one of the upcoming patches. Moving seven ships to seven different tiles to upgrade them is fairly
