Yes - but is a PQ10 with a 300% production bonus tile equal to a PQ10 with a 300% research bonus tile, or 3 100% influence bonus tiles etc? Did the planet receive a bonus or penalty on colonisation? How well developed is it, and how many people? Does it provide enough influence on it's own to overcome the influence of planets in surrounding systems or is it going to flip b

I second the proposal of a "no surrender" option. I third and I think it should be in the game already.
If you get any lockups with my Mod or (anyone elses mod for that matter.) If any mod you have crashes on spacecombat. (CTD when attacking due to incorrect english.str) goto C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods\INVADER-Mod\Data and delete your english.str file. There are many mods that modify the strings directly so if you are having any other problems with ANY other mods this is the first thing to look for.
Yes, and building values are in planetimprovements.xml (i think that's it's name). Both files should be in the \Data\English\ subdirectory of the main game install directory. Only problem is, you won't be able to play metaverse games if you mod these - if metaverse is at all important to you. Oh yes forgot about that one thank you.
That said, I'd happily give up 4 research resources for one military or economic (especially after I've completed the tech tree) - so maybe even that is still exploitable to a certain extent. See but thats not the trade the trade is for an equal starbase. That I would understand military mining bases are very valuable. <TABLE cellpadding
Damned cheater.... damn you and your needs for copy protection. :look: They could very easily make it so that the poll uses your login and ip address making it scientific and accurate. Until then its not the poll of the people. Its the poll of the GalCiv1 fanboys. Who go along with anything Stardock says good or bad. It was a rabib fanbase who sn
Just use the Techtree.xml from 1.2 Thats where the economy and morale bonus are applied from the stats they have in the tech tree when they are in invented. However modding population is hardcoded. (even though the buildings are in the Techtree.xml) the cap for population is hardcoded.
How about a Dread Lord invasion? A Dread Lord fleet with a troop transport arrives from one edge of the map and starts to close in on the nearest inhabitted world. I wish we had that and space monsters like that.
You still can, no-one has taken away the ability to trade for planets or starbases etc. Only their values to the AI were changed to make them far more reasonable and less exploitable within the context of the game. Are you sure? Becuase really all I want to do is trade the AIs Starbase Mining Research 49 in my territory for my Starbase Mining Res
It's done that way to prevent serious exploitation - i.e. trade PQ 5 planet in middle of your empire to AI for lots of tech / ships / cash, wait a few turns for planet to culture flip back to you, repeat ad infinitum. It is still too easy to buy planets off the AIs though, and planet trading shouldn't really be an option except as part of a peace treaty IMO. </
Please, please, please don’t quote polls to me that say multiplayer users are a minority because it is wrong, I know for a fact that my (a. one. b. five. c. sixty) friend(s) would buy the game and tell their (a. one. b. five. c. sixty.) friend(s) to buy the game if it were multiplayer but now they wont. The polls are non scientific and tainted. I
True, but one huge game-breaking bug has been found when using the 1.3 retail patch on non-english versions: CTD when attacking a ship. It has been spotted on french speaking forums and reported here https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=129932 and here https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=130029 Adding my voice to the fact this bug
I want the event left in. It can be modded later. I've had it happen several times and it hasn't effected my computer. (System: Athlon 64 3000+ Ge-Force Fx 5200 1536 Ram) I like it.
I think that smaller populations add a new dimension. It is no longer an option to pump out troop transports every 4 turns from a hive world. In my current game I am juggling troop production across 5 worlds on the other side of the galaxy from my battle front. In 1.2 I would have been producing them from newly conquered planets, but in 1.3 I don't want to lose the populat
However, the complete nerfing of morale (and farm output) has removed a significant portion of this replayability from the game. It is now not viable to pursue a high population planet build strategy, and I'm not sure that constantly having an empire made up exclusively of planets with 19 billion population will help maintain a level of interest in the game. </tab
(CTD when attacking due to incorrect english.str) I want this fixed! A miniturazation mod was included with INVADER-Mod. I see no point to making it an exploit or removing the modders ability to edit this file. This was during s a small human single player campaign that this was tested. I have purchased the game legitimately, I just don't want to install Stardock Central. I have nothing per se against Stardock Central, however I try to keep my system as clean as possible and avoid installing non-essential programs. Here let me put your worries aside...Its not STEAM. There now you can install without problems. lol sorry couldn't
And the game is unplayable if you don't use the english version (CTD when attacking due to incorrect english.str) I knew that was the problem with my mod (CTD when attacking due to incorrect english.str). Thanks for confirming.
INVADER-Mod GalCiv2 Beta 6.0 for 1.30A.044 *Re-Re-designed political partys Example: Populists now have population growth Mercantile now has economics *Optimized for 1.3 Final *Removed Dummy files 0kb *all pre-built races in game now have 7-9-10 extra race picks to create super races to own the player character...thats you! *added ability to create a completely blank custom race template. *added economic bo
As Evil Stormbringer has had nothing but complaints and no actual constructive feedback lately, he has been demoted to Visitor. I will look into the planet quality thing; we've fixed a lot of issues with the planet quality, so maybe this is an issue that the planet surface is being initialized too early. When you guys do the patch porcess. Whe
(Shakes head at thread) Ok let me suggest somethings. I'm going to mention that the game. Dropped during loading the first time. And it dropped to desktop during galaxy creation once. Now having said that I played after the game crashes and kept trying to re-load the game and all of a sudden it just worked fine.(hasn't locked up since) Its best to try something several times and try re-booting. My problem was I didn't notice my AVG gold anti-virus was scanning when I tried to run t
Yeah, I read the list of fixes for this new update and just have one question. To all of you who have played this game without any issues, how could that be when there is a list of "tweaks and fixes" that scrolls for an awful lot of lines. This is proof that the developers weren't the swiftest at programming for if so, then why would we all need these updates to fix our pr
I'm just watching stuff stored on my DVR as I wait -- currently tennis. I'm doing the same watching Dethklok Metalapocalypse.
hope the download is available soon We get up to early. I decided To buy this game after reading several reviews that applauded both stardocks fanatical customer support and GC's brilliant AI. I see now that those
They did? You mean like this: Stardock does, however, plan to create an expansion pack sometime mid next year to GalCiv II that includes multiplayer depending on how well Dark Avatar sells (pricing would be about the same as Dark Avatar and it would have lots of other features as well to make sure it appeals to a wide spectrum).
