I think the American goverment is the best prove for alien life in our galaxie. No human being can fail so far to solve or even see the big problems of our world. So I even hesitation to speak of intelligent creatures.

May be you point of view is below the galactic halo ?
The goal of this mission is not to beat the Dread Lords but to cature the Yor world. So you can win it by concentrate on atacking the Yor and ignore the Dread Lords - if you are fast enough. And you have the initial cash to build up the fleets you need. There is a rush tutorial in the staregic forum too.
Maybe you should do a complete redesign of your strategie ? I played the first Dread Lord szenarios as well - and it was hard, I have to restart some multiple times as is see my strategie did not work, but it became easy after I found a working strategie. And I were very happy thereafter - a lot of fun! There are multiple szenario solutions - two weks ago I read here a postiong of a guy who win by defending and let the allianz menbers fight the Dread Lords (must be a high difficulty le
I think the tech speed is much to high too. However I don't think you can change this rate by an factor 2 or 3 without greatly disbalancing the races. As slower the tech rate is as more imported the bonus +x% research will be. On the opposite way as long as the espionage system is so simple, who will spend 50 turns to develop a new tech, if it is stolen within 10 turns ?
It is a question of your tech level. If you managed to equip your ships with a defence of a similar magnitude as the dread lord attack power (say > 30%) AND have enough hit points, so that your ship is not destroyed by the remainig attack power ( AND managed to load enough weapons to destroy the dread lord you shoud do. But this is hard. The first dread lord
> Probability of attacker winning: 82.2% Thanks So I am not so bad with my 1 of 4 estimation. But one point is open: I do more then a ten repetition of the essential game turns - in no one my station wins - or even scratch the scout. May be I am just unluck - may be there is a bug or unknown factor in the combat calculation. I can't know. Thats why I ask ! This
May be there is still an AI bug ? See: v1.1 Difficulty/Computer Intellegence Level Bug? (https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=115007) It looks like the AI is not initialized in some games ...
I like the idea to design my star bases in the same way as ships. There should be a special hull class "Starbase". The difference to ship design is: 1. No drive can added. 2. The starbase costs is calculated in 'Number of Constructors' 3. Any starbase has special slots for functional updates (as support or bonus modules) which can be added by separate constructors after the starbase is build up. 4. A starbase design can no6t be selected in the ship build screen.<br/
> The problem is, the scout get to shot first and hence finish your starbase off in just 1 go with ~118 dmg. I know this, thats why I have run the fight multiple times. The scout does 1 to 118 dmg and the station should absorb 1-9 dmg. So I expect the station survive the first shoot in 1 of 4 matches (damage (By the way - why do not the station the first shoot ? It is a military station, it is under attack and it has seen the attacker long before the battle start ....
As far as I understand the economic thing - you have an big misunderstanding how farms and markets work. A Farm will improve the max. population of planet (by 5bil at level 1). You can't improve the population about the planet class limit, so small planest don't need any farms and you need more them three an big planet if you have a good farming tech level. Markest improve the income generated on a planet - they don't sell the farming production ! Build markest on pla
Yesterday I tried the 5. campaign mission under V1.1. The problem I run into is: the Dread Lords build very fast some small scout level ships with > 100att, 16-20def and 8hp. If they specialized at laser weapons I found I can't do anything to stand against them, because I can't research any other weapon tree than laser and never managed to research weapon powerful enough to crack the >16def before they overrun me. I other games they specialized at missle weapons and defense, so I think
