Well, I thought the crashes had stopped after reinstalling the game, but now my latest game is repeatedly crashing. It only happens after I press the turn button, and it seems to happen after some of the AI players have moved. Then the screen just goes blank and I drop out to the desktop. This happens a few turns after I load my save game, and it happens every time, although not always on the exact same turn. I tried saving after another turn and then loading that save game. Aparently this kind of crash relates to the ship configuration files. I had this problem for a week and it finally seems to be fixed. I uninstalled the game and removed all of the saved files, including ships I had designed. Made sure to copy my save game files first though. Then did a clean install of 1.11, copied my save game files back into the save game directory, and everything seems good. A few other people have commented on this in the forums and it seems to work for them.

Designing a chess AI that can beat 99.9% of all people was relatively easy. Chess has a set number of pieces that can make only very specific moves. Once computers were fast enough to analyze all the potential moves and counter moves for several turns ahead, people didn't stand a chance.

Games that were saved prior to the update would load normally. Any new games or games started before the update would crash while loading. I thought that if I started a new game with version 1.11 that it wouldnt crash but no luck.

Let me revise that. I just had a game on a giant galaxy stop working. So I am not sure if it is all due to the last update, but it never happened before then. I already tried reinstalling the game, but the same thing happens. It crashes while trying to load a save game.

I reinstalled the game and just added update 1.1, not 1.11. I think I will be hesitant to update the game further. At least I can play now.
