If the problem has anything to do with saves, it may not help that I save obsessively and nearly constantly. I've also considered that it may just be certain maps. Some games, I'm able to run them smoothly even to the end on large, others, I'll run a small one and it will get hard to run even when zoomed out to logos only, no 3d. Interesting.

Recently I've started experiencing a horrendous memory leav when playing Gal Civ 2. Even though I've played larger games in the past, now I find most of my games lagging, sagging, and with skippy music and slow interface. It seems to get worse over time and I didn't notice it before and don't know why it suddenly seems to be happening. I've tried to turn down several graphical options to help but there seems to be little to no change and I don't know w
The Forum search just plain doesn't work. You can type something in and click search but nothing happens.
Ooh, I wish I could play as those. A little Warhammer 40k feeling there.
I would also like to be able to save my favorite designs for use in other games. Possibly for exporting, sharing online, or just so I can use the same custom ships in multiple games would be cool.
No tech trading option? What is meant by this? I like trading technologies for cash and or giving them to my friends and foes.
How do you know the alien race ambassadors aren't female? Are you an expert on xeno-gender studies? Seriously...anti-feminist? Geez. I do agree that maybe having a male and female choice for Terrans and Altarians would be nice, I don't honestly think that they're commiting some horrible and greivous deed here. Extra portraits for custom and pre-made civs would be nice, but, please, don't try and
Tachyon eddies. Second, it needen't be solar sails, per-se, just, something I can use that will accenuate my ships to be a bit more...graceful looking. Besides, your ship can't be going at hundreds of times the speed of light the ENTIRE time it's flying, even when landing, orbiting a planet, or fighting? C'mon. But, ideally, I suppose, just some cool jewelry, that's webby, big, and fragile looking. I sortof like a less industrial look for my ships. Or
One more thing, this is a semi-question perhaps, as I don't know if it's a bug or not. I've had aliens offer me trade goods in exchange for things before. The problem is, when I accepted said trade good in the trade screen, I nevere received it, or the benifit of it. In fact, when I invaded the civilization who gave me that trade good, I still found it on their planet, and then, and only then did I finally get the bonus for posessing it. Did I effectiv
One thing that I have noticed other people mention on the forums: They make alliances with races that they don't like, want to hurt, hinder ,and defeat, just to prevent said race from attacking them until they're ready to start their own dirty ploy against said race. That being said, whenever someone contacts me and asks for help against my evil ally whom I hate, the dialogue is always favorable about them. In addition, it seems that espionage against
I mentioned this in another post, suggesting more large, webby, or delicate looking jewelry, but considering, I think that solar sails, or other similar forms of technology would be an interesting addition to the tech tree, and to ships. I'm sure someone could come up with other similar looking 'web' or sail type looking things to hook onto ships to make them go. I just really enjoy making ships with sharp angles and large curves, and solar sails would
I honestly think hard science (Or at least theory.) Is far more cool and interesting with much room for stories and ideas than the plastic science most Sci-Fi throws at you. (Silly Trek.) That being said, it works better with something like a novel or a movie, and not so much a strategy game. See, I can just buy it being a tactical display, or better yet, buy that only the important parts that I'd interact with are on the map. In a novel, you have a va
Just to add. No need to come up with too many explanations, there could just be penalty in addition to bonus boxes with the racial abilities already in place, and maybe a couple more new ones.
Sometimes ships on auto survey will ignore certain random anomalies and only explore others despite how close they are.
Turn button sometimes dissapears, making it impossible to continue that game, loading and quitting don't work, a new game must be started.
When starting the game without hyperdrive technology included for your custom race, it still says that humanity gave it to you, despite the fact that you have to research it. In addition, sometimes loading a game will display the same -start game- screen that says the Humans have given your fledgling empire hyperdrive. ...Ok.
Perhaps I should just pretend I have a better computer and a ferarri too.
I think an interesting idea to put forth would be the introduction of Penalties to a race in order to garner extra points, as well as new abilities. Penalties in all the abilities possible to gain an advantage in, in at least one or two categories, like slowed growth, nonviolence (Inept Military.) Bad traders, Heavy Pollution (Degrading the quality of homeworlds and settled worlds with polution.) Abilties to be able to build on water tiles instantly, o
I'm sure somebody is already working on them, and that someone will point it out to me how to add my own, but at the moment, I think we could use more custom race icons and empire icons to choose from, just on principle, of a couple different types of things, creatures, machines, squid, and cartoony guys, just so we have it to choose from, and a few different empire emblems too, I have found some I like, but I think there could be a bit more. I'm sure
Just to add to it, I wanted to say the loyalty and bravery bonuses would be both because your people beleive in a higher power, and because they beleive that the government is connected to or representant of it. Soldiers who beleive in life after death aren't going to be as stingy with their lives, or as eager to betray their species.
I for one would like to see more jewelry that is more delicate, intricate, and has a carved, or precious look. Spindly things. Solar sails, big curved webby things, thinner sails and fins to make my ships look like boats or fish. I think that would be a fun addition. I am personally a big fan of solar sails, just for looks, even with a better propulsion technology. I haven't played the game much, I just got it, so I'll see if these are on the tech tree
I don't know if this was suggested before, but I would like to see more political parties to choose from/appease, as well as new government options. One, the religeous types would be fun to put in, and can be made in an abstract way as to not offend anyone. (Though we'll mostly be dealing with abstract, alien religeons.) And being able to choose this party would be interesting. To have an alien empire run by clerics with starships, like many sci-fi sho
I think a 'The' Pulldown/Checkbox in front of Race/Leader/Home Planet Or Renaming text boxes would be keen. To explain what I mean, I can reference 'City Of Heroes' where when creating a character you had a chance to grab a 'The' from a pulldown menu before the name to add to it. It would add the The before the name, textually, but also, perhaps, change a few bits of dialogue where the tense is off. Let's say I wanted to name my Race 'The Consortium' t
