Well, for me, the 100.64 drivers actually worked. I was able to start a game and played through a couple hundred turns without issue. The only 'problem' I had was that when quitting the system appeared to hang on the redraw. It took it a good couple minutes to release the resources and get Windows back, in stark contrast to the almost instant (and much improved over XP) release I have in every other game using Vista. I'm running an 8800GTS on a C2D E6300 OC'd to 4GHz with 2GB Corsair

Can't say I'm surprised. There's not ONE game that I've been able to get to work flawlessly (or even close ) with Vista 64-bit and nVidia drivers. I was an ATi fanboy ever since Voodoo went away and this oh-so-pricey 8800GTS was my first nVidia card. It's performance blew away that of anything ATi had on the market and I was getting a little tired of ATi's lackluster driver support over the past 10 years. And whaddya know -- the instant I buy an nVidia card is the same

I'm having the same problem with Vista Ultimate 64-bit but with an nVidia card. I do have the just-released (but still oh-so-crappy) nVidia Vista Drivers. I also have the latest beta 64-bit Creative drivers as well. The crash occurs immediately after the Intro. If I set SkipIntro=1 I can get it to last about 3 seconds in the UI before crashing. I've also played around with some different resolution settings (via the Prefs.ini) with no luck there. And, FWIW, Stardock

If his military rating was higher than yours then he had the means to fight you back, he just wasn't doing it. And you stretched yourself thin and they knew it. The computer will often hold back, wait for you to push forward, spread yourself thin, then when you've gone as far as you can, whip out his ships, take everything that you took back and then some.
