I've found that when attacking an enemy planet my capital ships often ignore asteroids until the last moment when they have to stop, turn 90 degrees, start moving again. This often slows down my attack considerably and naturally is very annoying. Some more intelligent path finding seems to be a must.

First of all, sorry if anything I say has been mentioned but I've only read half the posts here so far, its taking me a while. Secondly it seems to me that from Frogboy's original post that fleets should play a major role in the game (which I agree with). When not in a fleet a single ship would be very vulnerable, for frigates they would be picked off easily by bombers etc, for capital ships their expense and slow movement means an enemy fleet could do costly damage if caught o
When playing on hard ai (all map sizes) I have found that I am always rushed by a flagship and frigate fleet from 2 or 3 opponents which head straight for my homeworld ignoring anything in the way. This means I can always whittle down the numbers with base defenses en route and take out their flagship before it reaches its destination. The remains of the enemy fleets then carry on, reach their destination and turn around as they have no hope of winning even though I can always finish them off on
As a point of actual realism, how can you expect a completely new feature like novas to be added to a game thats so close to it's release date? Even if they could, a realistic event would have to include the effect of the star collapse, leading to possible black dwarf, neutron star or black hole. Any of these present in the game (particularly black holes) would cause serious gameplay changes, not least of which would be the massive no fly area around t
the i-league is still using the report for the kwilasians. is this going to be changed or will they just use the leader name and icon?
This has probably been brought up but i'll say it just in case. When playing some games i have noticed that some of my ships 'disappear' but the screen still moves to its location only there are patches of fog (or shroud or whatever) that cover some areas up. If i try to send a ship into that area the ship just disappears in the fog. When i then try to move the ship out again it appears when it comes out of the patch. The only way of removing this is by saving, exiting and loading it aga
sell tech to minor races. If you declare war on another race first make sure that you have a chance in hell of beating him. Use the money gained from selling techs to minor races to buy the enemy races best ships (that way there already nearby). then beat the hell out of em.
also alien ships should not be able to take down about 5 other ships of the same class. This always happens to me, i would create a fleet of battleships say and the enemy would be able to take them all down with one or two battleships even though i have weapons, defence and hitpoints upgrades.
Starbases should have more hp. My starbases usually have 100 hp but the alien starbases always seem to have about 200 hp and this is early on in the game. Whats with that?
i have this problem too, its weird but eventually if you keep colonizing their populations will stop growing and yours will be shooting up. This does tend to take a while though.
while thats true, the AI can be incredibly stubbon. For instance in one of my games i was beating up the Yor and after taking all but two of their systems and destroying every ship they had as well as having dreadnoughts, avatars and battle ships surrounding them they wouldn't even trade peace treaty for thought police let alone one of their planets.
this may be stupid but on that link there is limited shipbay for starbases which is out already and i've never known how it works.
has SD started to improve AI or has that not been implemented yet?
Well there probably would be at least one race like that and you might have to beat them to death but it would be easier for you if you found a peaceful solution.
If say the Drengin's wiped out the Torian's then it would be harder for the Drengin's ONLY to reach cultural victory. (And impossible for the Torians ) ;)
mabe if it just counted if you wiped out a race
True. But if races had to be happy with you how would you get enough influence to win without taking some of their planets. Damn this is hard!
Yeah, but if you went for conquest you would probably just wipe out one civ then move on to the next.
This is probably very dumb but... What if you had it worked out so cultural victory depended on how many alien civilizations were left alive. Say you had a high number set for each size of galaxy at the beginning of the game (higher than the amount of influence you would have if you controlled every system) then to win culturally you had to have enough influence x the number of alien civilizations that are left. That way if you were going to try to win by conquest you
ive won by alliances no problem. Just wait till everyone else is at war and then start giving them ships.
you might be able to research a mining ship that specificly builds a mining colony. It might be that its run by nanobots which would remove the whole morale thing.
im probably the only one with crashes but i think the code will need some work
Thanks, it worked great but some of my social projects still don't work. Love mushrooms, Economic Capitol, Tir-Quan Training etc. They do the same thing that the Starhawk did so ive probably got more missing lines.
i don't kno if this has been brought up but whenever i am in a game for a while and i have more social projects/ships than will fit into the screen i find that i can't scroll down and see the rest of it. I also have a problem where when i click on a project or ship (mostly new stuff from the new beta) the game crashes and i go back to windows.
i haven't found any 26 planets but im sure that the one i found was 24
