I am a founder and I have no problem with this at all. Galciv3 is shaping up to be a great game and I am happy more people will enjoy it. Look at it this way: The more sucessfull Galciv3 is the more chance there is for expansions and value for your founder edition (if you absolutly need an economic justification - I dont.)

Yeah I like it for catch up to be possible but not likely given a player knows what he is doing. I think it is good design. It is like a chess match where one has a clear advantage he usually wins unless the other guy puts up a "miracle move" that compleatly goes against all the computer odds of moves etc. Or as they say in american football the "hail mary pass." I really like that that is possible in this game by as indrkl points out 3 tiles can easily be as afficient as 9 given the right ci

+1 for creativity too bad it does not work. But great thinking. But apart from patent reducing sabotage time and being scientists or using goons I think the following helps you out somewhat: - Spread your production across the map so its harder to both A) sabotage all your stuff and B) find all your stuff quickly - if your going geotermal expect to be revolted and save up for a goon. In the current meta it is an extremly common tactic - Other high risk

I think any AI that can calculate they will be able to recover the debt quickly should bid high for a claim. Keep in mind a claim can be covered by debt and this is a big deal compared with having to cover it from cash and the reason why many bid higher than they would for simply buying a claim from the market. The other reason is bidding a claim does not increase your black market claim cost so it has additional value compared with a black market claim. But yes some AI for example if they ha

nice if we can move the chat window and also if we can whisper to player x and to select team chat as well. But no biggies you guys rock and the game is awesome already ^^ Just trying to offer more polish for the gem.

i think anything after a company is bought out should be split between the stock owners and all assets should be liquidated. That way you cant snowball incredble fast and the end game is exiting.

start of game : - Are the other settled earlier and can I wait for the extra claim? - How does the map look like is there any good clusters I can use to gain an advantage? - Can I place my colony so that it is not long transporation times to the future industries I will build as well so I save money on teleportation patent? Players put down colonies: - Are the other players steel colonies or are they carbon colonies. Are they going to be self sufficient

I do not mind the quick buyouts if your share price is low. I do mind the cash not mattering much imho as this is very unrealistic. Cashflow and cash levels are really important metrics in real life stock markets in most cases. Example a company with cash after deducting all liablities of 100 million usd would in general atleast have a mcap of 100 mil usd or more. The earnings or bottom line usually have a multiple of 10-15 (more or less depending on industry, sector, growth oppertunities etc

Glicko2 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glicko_rating_system ) is better than elo but any of these rating systems is sufficient. It does not solve the problem of ranking in a teamer as noted above in this game due to the buyout mechanism. But I guess its fine to have everyone on a team loose or gain ranking as 1 even if that means a bad player could be carried by his team if that makes it a simple solution, but I prefer

Sweet. Man stardock is really getting its act together. galciv 3 is shaping up well and mohawk games is doing great on off world trading. I remember fondly the metaverse for galciv2 so stardock dares to do new things others dont and thats really cool in my book. I put them togehter with amplitude now in the top tier tbs makers. Sadly firaxis is no longer among them after the worse civ5 and BE. (albeit with the dlc civ5 is ok now. But it is not civ4 and the mp that was superior.)

The black-market trait is a potential big deal is more correct to say since it depends on the opponent. And you definitively need to use black market eating burger. If I am not doing black market the moment it is up i am not playing right. Either you time it for a claim tile or to cripple or gain from it. i cant count the games I have stolen cheaply the highest paying resource for 100+ seconds netting me huge income. Typically in a 3 windmill strat in a high cost power game (typical if someon

Anyhow by all means feel free to play the game more. In none ranked games as it is now currently it does not matter much at all so it is no big deal. However i am pretty sure at some point the game will balance the factions and either make the other stronger or scientist weaker. I have been so far in every game I have made such strong calls previously. And I have worked as a play tester for many of the highest claimed titles and been a world champion in one of these titles. You can find me in

Since you appriciate the finer arts in life (Mario kart) you must have some observational skills so I will continue the discussion a bit more. We define a typical scenario. Sadly this is a long text but if your interested it shows in math how scientists earns more and gets more output faster and has advantage in the trade screen by having no raw good pressure or cash pressure by having to buy raw goods. For the scenario we accept that no player is going to have the extra tile

eatingburger you conveniently left out the part where I said because I did the numbers correct sigh. "as even adjusted the effect is clear" (I showed you both 2,5 and 3 steel output math and these are just two example of what happens in most games. As I have written previously the only time your at equal footing with scientists is if raw goods has crashed down in price.)
