I think that minors not colonizing makes sense because they have class 15 worlds (consitered paradise) now why would you want to leave paradise eh (unless there's no women in paradise i dont see a good reason lol).

I actually liked how MOO2 did the balancing of the colony rush. Basically if you started in the "pre-warp" tech age you had poor production capabilities + the colony ships were very expensive to make. The player is then faced with 2 choices, tech up the industry/research and then industrialize your main world, being able to only colonize the planets in your own system OR you could research colony ships + engines so that you can go out and try to explore the stars early (but the problem was you
i'll toss my vote in the "not to include tactical combat" side ( just in case someone was keeping a statistical stat of how many ppl want / not want it). things i want to see in future updates from MOO2: 1. Obstacles in Space (blackholes and unstable nebulas). I think this is something that would be nice in gc (it would add natural barriers & borders. Would be a nice way to add new random events (ie. A black hole forms in your backyard, or 2 planets in so and so solar s
Terraforming Tech is useless to those that want to do Neutral Alignment ( one of the benefits of being neutral is to open up all available spaces in your planets which is the same effect as the "orbital terraformer" galactic wonder. )
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/galacticcivilizations2/review.html?sid=6145309 Gamespot reviewed GC2 as a 9.0 out of 10.0. Apparently they didnt like the music. ( personally i like gc2 music )
print screen button on ur keyboard?
I build starbases on every single planet. I dont like my military production going to waste on any planet lol. If you dont like it there you can always upgrade it to a different building later. a 3PQ planet (2 factories 1 starport) can pumpout tiny/small fighters fairly quickly.
same, i would like to have the CIA kill off some of their spies, then send off james bond to kill their leader or impregnate all their women...either one will have the same effect.
I think the Weapon Techs are fine the way it is. Like someone said earlier, its all timing your techs. I usually tailor my weapons, logistics, movement, miniturization & defense techs in a such a way so that i can make a 2dmg/2def 2or3 speed small ships. once im done getting there, i start mass producing those ships as i research planetary invasion (which is needed to take worlds) It's a really tricky balancing out all those techs when playin in a 9player map set on tough (all AI are set to
Ok...which is better to specialize in? Which one allows you to make better ships faster? Large hull = more space + more HP (longer tech + costs more to build ships) or Miniturization = more crap on your ships sooner (takes less time to tech). What's your opinion!!!
I think they took that out in the final release. I dont see any options or bonuses on ringed/mooned planets.
I like the hero's idea just because it will add to the "epic story" aspect of the game. What's the use of having an empire if there aren't one or two famous people to write in the history books about. lol...think of it, a 2 foot tall alien (one of the snathi maybe) naming themself napoleon lol it could prove pretty hilarious.
I had a game that the minor race kept sayin that to me and i didnt even know where they were ahahahah.
I believe that the Random Events are Just right. Life in our little mudball is already pretty unpredictable, why should the universe be any different. Now imagine if in that situation you were able to somehow destroy the ranger ship? To me, if the challenge was to destroy 1 uber ship and i was able to do it (maybe wave after wave of fighter squadrons because it would lose a little bit of health each time) I would feel pretty smug about myself. The PQ0 -> PQ13 event would be a great event bec
Been playing GC2 for about 3 days straight now and i've noticed something.... There's a whole lot of space out there in the game. The game needs gas nebulas, worm holes, white stars, and well anything to obstruct ship movement in a given area to create some sort of logistical problem or natural defensive barriers for the players & the AI to manuver around. I'm a big fan of Famous people that give bonuses (either as governors of a planet or starbase or starships). <br
i found a class 19 planet, landed gained the +47% PQ increase random event pushed it up to a size 28, didnt get to terraform it thou (made a great econ capital out of it ~250+ in taxes)
Played the game for about 2 days straight. 2 duels with the dregnin, 1 duel against the altarians (all intelligent level games) was trying to lean to play lol. Played a game with 8 players (normal mode) and finished about 3 of the campaign missions. There is only one thing i can say to even come close to describing how good a game this is... "just one more turn." On that note, here are a few things that I believe is missing from the game. *unexplorable/unpathable areas -
actually, the game becomes really easy if you set your econ early (i've been playing on the "duel" map to learn the game) make the home planet a manufacturing/research plant early (so u can get those 2 industries going right away to produce colony ships). Once the "land grab" part of the game is done, building a econ is essential to getting everything rolling. I used the same tactic in an 8 player map and by the time the AI was ready to invade me, i had enuf of an econ base/manufacturing base
i wonder if that's the same thing as deleting the saved races that have no portraits in the "save race" screen.
get the patch lol
have you checked to see if all your fans are working properly? cool&quiet technology on/off? most of my heat problems are the result of a faulty fan on the CPU (due to dust or just plain over used). without knowing exactly which component of your rig is whinning there's no telling what it is (it could just be a fan that spins faster because your generating more heat) try running your rig with the cover off and look @ it carefully when it starts to chime. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
well EB finally recieved a shipment of GC2 (non-collectors). They recieved exactly 2 units which was enuf to fill their pre-orders lol. gluck trying to find it @ EB. try one of the other ones mentioned first hehehehe (hear BestBuy recieved theirs a loong time ago).
narf called ebgames again today. guy said that there is NO indication that they have any copies both in shipment or in the warehouse ready to be shipped. *sigh* waiting patiently *sigh* on a side note, MOO2 is still a fun game for freakin an ancient one, i think GC2 will be the same way 10-15 years from now when i look back on it. *twiddles thumbs* <img src="http://image
lol im playin moo till my local eb games store gets it hahahahah
narf.... called EB today also and recieved pretty the same response ( hasnt arrived @ their warehouse etc check tomorrow). really tempted to cancel if not for Frogboy's request. Any way we can recieve temporary serials #'s that will expire on Friday (if you can get a list of ppl from EB or any other gamestore that has preordered it) so we dont have to wait forever (and help ensure that innocent EBGames employees survive the weekend lol) *twiddles thumbs* <img src="http://images.stardock.com/g
