That's why I couldn't understand all of the "no diagonal scroll" whining in the forums. Who needs it? I edge scrolled once. It was too slow for me. I never went back. Turn up your edge scrolling speed if its too slow. So its okay to click drag 20 times to scroll across the galaxy? Thats just lame. Allow me to edge scroll diagonally like EVER

Thank you very much for your help. I was suspecting as much as I am on the second mission and they do have an introductory sort of feel to them (which is GOOD). Thanks everyone
I'm playing the campaign game.. is it just me or do I not see 'ship shields' as a researchable topic. I research defenses, and it talks about all three defense types, but then I only see armor as an option to research. Where are the shields and missle defenses? For that matter, where are the mass drivers and missle weapons? Thanks
There are at least some anomalies that are visible on the minimap (if you turn on the 'show anomalies' option) while they are completely invisible on the main map. I assume this is an error and the graphics are missing, so they don't show up. I can send you the savegame file if you need to investigate it further. Should be an easy bug to fix.
OMG forget it.. someone delete this post. This feature is already in the game I was just too zoomed in to see it
Can you guys just add like a halo, or other marker, around a starbase to indicate its 'area of effect'.. it would be alot easier to see exactly how far out you can put your military ships without having to count squares the whole time. Only if its not too hard. Thanks
They took that out as the screen would scroll every time you clicked on turn or menu, very distracting. Its no different now if you hit the screen edge.. the buttons are not on the screen edge, so unless you are very uncoordinated, it shouldnt matter.. The screen edges scroll anyway, they don't need t
You cannot scroll the map diagonally by moving the mouse to the diagonal corner of the screen. I dunno, but that is something most 'map type' strategy games let you do. Is there any way this can be put in? Developer Note: We took diagnal scrolling out because it was annoying players who hit the turn button. We can look at putting in some sort of sensitivity option later. <S
This bug should be easy to fix. If you bring up the planet/ship list, you can no longer scroll the map leftward using the mouse edge scrolling.
I've been running at 1600x1200 and up and it runs great, but the font size is VERY tiny, especially the income and other info inthe bottom left. Anyway to increase the font size?
Correct. The initial alignment is fixed. But in game events can modify the alignment of the AI. There is a gameplay example on the board somewhere where there was a peoples revolt which turned the Drengin from evil to good mid-game. An interesting development However, once you choose your alignment through the appropriate research, can it ever change again based on decisions you make ?? And if it can, then what happens to th
Default.. yes.. But there was that game example where the Drengin were flipped to good by a revolution. That was interesting
What happens if you have an alignment shift of evil to good or good to evil as was demonstrated in one of the gameplay examples?? What I mean, is what happens to your alignment specific buildings ?
True... the existing tutorials seemed pretty complete. Did you watch the tutorials yet?
Just curious why there are no tutorials 15-19 ????
Well.. at least they included the tutorial info/movies so that we can run through the tutorials before we get the game. Many tutorials with little time Looks good tho !! You DO know how to view the tutorials now, don't you ? Hint, use
BUT.. what happens when you change alignment from bad to good ! or reverse.. not really addressed anywhere. What happens to your buildings?
There is an option that allows to set the AA level (from none to 4X I am correct) Anyone know if there is a difference between enabling in game AA and enabling it in the driver instead?
What happens if your alignment changes and you have alignment specific buildings?
Very nice. So the addition of hitpoints is an abstraction for battlefield experience, which is a very valid way of doing it. I assume that experience is maintained if you upgrade your ship ?? Gives you a good reason to try to marshal a few elite ships until you need them.
I think he is trying to ask what the square root calculates or why its used at all Not what a square root is, heh "non optimal" defenses are counted only as square root of their value. As opposed to matched defenses. Here is an example: Fighter attacks another fighter Fighter = beam attack of 4, beam defense of 4, missle defense of 4, massdriver defense of 1 The fighter's beam attack (rolled
Can AA be forced to disable in the game? I'll probably be more than fine with an Athlon FX57 running dual 7800GTX's in SLI but here is a question thats been bugging me for the longest time that maybe you can resolve: Is there a difference between disabling AA in-game and then forcing it on using the driver (for example, to 8x +) versus setting the driver to "application controlled" and using the game to turn on A
Darth Kyro, you are WRONG. Just kidding Awesome post. Thanks for the clarification. I understand the different weapon types being separate rolls against separate defenses.. but you're right the manual is unclear on how it calculates fleet attacks. Can you suggest to the developers to include something like your post in the 'More detailed info' section of the manual, or in the readme? Or at least on an FAQ on here? As it cha
"Kind of like" Civ 4. Except there are no specialty bonuses to assign at level up.. which is the cool thing about civ4. So its not really like that at all.
well, people with the rank of diplomat or amabassor are gamma testers. So they should know how the battle work Hehe.. true.. they SHOULD But people should also read the current draft of the manual As it addresses that exac
