In the case of the Republic and Empire, it could be argued they use the same ships, the same tech, and for a time were ruled by the same man. Worth including twice? I am still of the opinion that the various mod efforts should first concentrate on scenario play. This means we'll actually get something playable a lot s

And yes dersleeper, you can entertain yourself quite thouroughly thinking about how youd represent the capabilities of signature ships in game terms. Like what would an xwing fighter be? A tiny hulled craft with plasma weapons, and also a missle attack, and minor shield defense? In order to fit all that stuff on a tiny hull, it would actually require a decent degree of tech, so maybe the xwing wouldbr availible till later. There are all

Its a high concept mod. Would any of these intellectual entities exist in the same time space period as the others, if one were to speculate on such nonsensical matters? No. Its the novelty of the "What if" factor. And the "Culture" is not in, so we neededt worry about that.
BTW, Im already being assailed by B5 fans telling em it should be "Vorlons" and not "Shadows". Like I said, Im not up on my B5 mythology...but I know there are a lot of fans of the series...this could certainly be decided.
Well, fans of the respective IPs can argu all day that some Factions would be inherently more powerful than the others. The job of game makers and modders is to make sure that each is a relatively balanced, and playable option overall.

Well, thats kind of covered with the Halo IP, isnt it? Many people say that the Halo IP borrowed liberally from Iain Banks culture Novels.
Sorry for the double post...the forums are a bit wonky for me :/ . And where are my medals?
One of the strong points about community modding is that in exchange for doing work as a labor of love, and not for financial compensation, is the tremendous creative freedom you gain in return. Concepts that could never exist in the commercial world can be created and enjoyed by fans...helping to expand the paying fanbase of both the source game they were modded upon, and the Intellectual Properties they celebrate. IN Gal Civ 2, we h

It was fixed in mondays patch. All the problems I was having with this are now gone. If you have the latest version of the game, it shouldnt be an issue anymore.
People that make forums posts with obnoxiously large text should be beaten about the neck and crotch region with cactus fronds. That being said...is the new functionality perfect? Of course not. Things can always be better. There are tons of things you could do to add functionality and ease of use to the ship designer, if you though in the long run, it would be worth the effort at the expens
The problem as been mentioned in many other threads stems in part from the silly offerings from AI offering powerfull techs for any old junk they dont have. And you right they dont recognize the difference between AI and player ...thats part of the problem. I have never seen this. If anything, its th
As Shalkto points out, the AI doesn't treat the player any differentlyt than each other. The AI also doesn't trade techs with anyone they have poor relations with. Yes, Brad, but they just go and trade it to someone they have normal relations with, who in turn trades to the other race that the
Space is not a finite area with "walls" that you cannot pass beyond, on a 2D plane. In fact, it is very much the exact OPPOSITE of that concept. But its represented in that over simplified manner in this "game" for the sake of fun and streamlined gameplay, and that applies to governments and any number of concepts in this game, or any other. The only thing "stupid" here is the making of forum threads with inflamatory titles, because this bit of common sense in game design that most
The random events are just that...random. Sometime they happen, sometimes they dont...sometimes they happen often in the same game, sometimes not at all. Ive had plenty of random events playing from saved games. The "lucky" racial ability can affect whether or not you recieve some random events, or the types you recieve.
Could the texture file be saved as an EPS file, and therefore availiable in vector format to both CorelDraw and Adobe Illustrator users?
Heres an amusing dialogue screen I got from the drengin, after they attacked me, and met my large hull warships: Link
Did you guys get the shaft on this, or are you not eligible til next year? http://www.igf.com/ GalCiv 2 deserves to be at the top of anyones Indie games awards. I mean Darwina was really interesting, but GalCiv 2 pretty much defecates all over everything on that list.
I would post about my positive experience too, except that Im been far too busy playing the electronic download of the game that i pre ordered and pre loaded , so I only had a couple mb to dl today, and went off without a hitch. Right now Im trying to figure out how to get a squatting minor race off a class 17 world I just discovered.
Wait a minute. Youre saying that you ordered the game for digital download on launch day, within hours of release, and its takign a while to download at the same time everyone and their sister is trying to download it? Thats just crazy talk mister. *goes back to playing his pre-ordered copy*
one word (or rather link) movietickets.com ordered online 3 weeks in advance for E1-2-3 of SW and passed all you 'costumed' folks in line Lol. You paid to see E1, 2 and 3 of SW. HA-HA ( insert "Nelson" laugh and point)!
Do the box pre-orders have to wait for their box to show up before they can participate in the metaverse?
