Standard Windowblinds skins don't have serial numbers. If you're looking for a Master Skin serial, it should be available by clicking on the Settings item on the righthand menu after you log in to Wincustomize. The Registrations tab that appears will have all of the Stardock (and third-party) software/skins you currently have registered along with a download link and serial number (if applicable).
I have to agree with # 2. The visual difference I noticed moving from XP to Vista is like night and day. While XP was a major step forward from its predecessors in many ways, it was still not particularly attractive. Now that I'm working with Vista on a daily basis (at home at least), I find that I'm less inclined to tweak things other than my animated wallpaper. This means that a) I've gotten lazier, b) Vista looks pretty good, or c) both.

You should also bear in mind that betas are not really guaranteed to work for every user and with every configuration--that's why they're betas. Personally, I tend to wait for the stable versions before upgrading. The support staff are pretty good at resolving these kinds of issues; if the software continues to be valuable to you (and I think especially if you're considering an upgrade or have already upgraded to Win 7), then I'd re-up.
I think this is a tired myth that deserves to be laid to rest.

Decapitate, Hey, this sort of thing is common with poorly-coded themes. Please post your complete specs (CPU, graphics card, et cetera), the WindowBlind or -Blinds that you have tried, and the information under your System Info tab in WindowBlinds. That should help the gurus figure out your problem. (looks like a couple of them beat me to it. . . )
