also in Q3 The dock itself only stretches out Top & Bottom when the zooming effect is used. its clear to me that the dock background stretches out just own way; vert. or horz. based on were the dock positioned. but its still a lil unclear which part of the png it chooses to stretch out. hope this isn't to many Q's.

cool, thanks. i did read 'skinning the dock' in OD+ folder in C: drive but its a bit vague, almost as if a programmer wrote it, though its defiantly helpful. If you don,t mind could you go a lil more into detail on Question2, here is what the 'skinning the dock' supplies: OutsideBorderTop = 2 ; Adds onto TopHeight, BottomHeight, etc respectively. OutsideBorderBottom = 10 ; Designates part of image to be as a "shadow" and draw OutsideBorderLeft = 2 ; outside t
Haven't seen any good tutorials on how to make them...I'm working on one now. If you have any questions fire away! First let me say i appreciate all your works, they make my desktop much more enjoyable. Ive been looking around for some tutorials, haven't ever found any, OD+ ‘help’ doesn't give to much detail. The zooming docks (tiles) seem so ea
lovely62 ..can anybody please tell me how to find out now if someone made a comment on any of my skins!!???' i may be wrong but i think your referring to clicking on your name, and then on 'my skins' or 'user's skins'. If so, its still there i just found it myself. Just below the black toolbar at the top that contains "Home, Gallery, Articles," etc. theres a light purplish bar with skinny dark blue text containing other selection options, it kind of goes unnoticed as it
There were some cool features that are no longer available such as customizing searches. It does seem more informative. The galleries seem to be geared more toward advertising, with 6 adds per page, thats ok by me, Except that they have taken the spot/ replaced the top 5 "Top Authors" and also top 5 Most popular skins' in that gallery. I don't think this will encourage new skinners, Kind of creating there own agenda there. Issues When i select many users names it takes me
I also think building a windowblinds is a big project for one person & if stardock could create some sort of site or something bringing user(s) together to collaborate & some how get them to team up on [a] windowblind, Stardock wouldn't be copying Microsoft vista or any other gui, but designing & setting the standard.
but my personal opinion is that over the past 2 years stardock could have redoubled its efforts in spreading the word to somehow get more people using there product. At this point windows vista and ms design center will shortly take the many unclaimed, untouched, or unaware gaget/wiget pc users. In addition i think object dock will continue to go strong, but could absolutely use more advertising of some type to get it out to the public. i also imag
This is an old article!, an update can be found here. Link
thank you all for sharing you thoughts. Im not real involved with that side of things though i do spend some time structuring my system i never got into window blinds and such. i mostly use object dock heavily. so i was curious. Yes it does seem like people are taking an interest more and more into skin. Your comments gave me a lot of good info, there’s probably a
i completely agree, i will say, and i dont want to make this an issue, it allready is it is true after re-reading that desktopX comment i can understand a little bit more of whats was going on, and so it was not a good example to use. But look at it, as a new user (to forms) its like there speaking another language. at the time i was completely unfamiliar with any of the lingo they w
anyways i never meant to have to back up my words. i wish i could have came across a little more clear in my initial post, but i hope if someone reads this they will understand what im trying to convey.
Yes, i apologize im not completely familiar with all the terminology, but i most defiantly have seen bump used derogatorily more than once, as a not nice joke per to say. What i meant is using not the word bump or any particular world but but the effect of making fun of someone thats posting a concern or issue. I don't have making fun of issues. i just haven't liked some of the things ive seen as ive walked into posts.
Thank you, i don't feel im being bashed at all. This post was not regarding people being offensive toward me, though i can see how it could appear that way. I only used 2 personal examples to try to share my point. What i was trying to refer this post to is when i see this happen to others especially new people. Thank you for your immediate concern. Im sure your all are much much more familiar with these forms than myself. Im not saying one person is committing murder, im just sharing my opi
i love object dock and also desktop x (till it crashed!) However, Im amazed at the impoliteness and immaturity that lath these forms, many by people that represent stardock. right or wrong if a person has a problem bashing them or making fun of them is absolutely unnecessary. I can only guess that thees are good people (doing the bashing) that have somehow have been taught that its cool to do. I also cant understand how the management of stardock allows it, and i strongly feel a company can no
Thanks for your replies, I agree with you as to Stardocks "innovative apps that are constantly evolving". so if im hearing you right your saying that microsoft is not going to allow users to tweak and build widgets or do any 'GUI modding' (new word for me) within microsoft's own software or platforms, but they are going to do the creating them selfs and then let the windows users download these items at a website is this correct?
I'm not sure if anyone has addressed this question, but what impact will Windows Vista, and Microsoft's new Design Center have on areas or softwares that are Wincustomize or Stardock related? That is which items or areas will receive the most competition if any. Of course there will always be the desire to modify. Ps. If you post here please be polite
wow not a single reply for 3 years. Well i think thats great news, & hope its helping.
yeser! thanks. i have like 300-400 shortcuts/links. didnt want to have to do all the work again
ya i asked the same question in another form since i didn't get much help here, and you answered it there.
i hope im not a nerd, i catch myself reading stuff like this, and actually reading the entire articles. Its interesting that with success comes many challenges that if not CHECKED create slippage were eventually (and rightly so) another will provide for that which is lacking. Such as internet explorer and Firefox stepping up. (millions of examples) Im a new skinner to a small degree, i love object dock, i noticed many of NetBagers complaints rather quickly, as to the objectdoc
got it. so got answers in the oth post, thanks Bichur, appears one wont need to reinstall all the short cuts, pics, flyout menus etc. sweet.
nice, thanks for your replies. guess im lil lazy or busy, & didnt want to find out the hard way. appreciate the feedback.
Sooo, can Objectdock plus 1.5 load docks or themes that were created in in od plus1.2? no one seems to know?
