Excellent news on the update. Getting over the 2GB limit doesn't excite me much as I don't play huge galaxies usually but I am sure there will be other fixes/improvements in a hypothetical patch so it's great news overall. Frankly, the game is great to me as it is right now. The biggest improvement for me would be improving the AI so I can't easily beat it on Normal difficulty (AI better handling attacking starbases, etc.). And yes, I would also buy a hypothetical Sins expansion or Sins 2.</p

I see. I should have said I'm on Windows 7 (32-bit).
First of all, I love the changes in 1.1 Betas. Every iteration is a little better then the one before. Good job dev team! However, does anyone experience any game freezes like I do? I don't have any crashes but the game just freezes every few minutes for like 15 seconds and then everything returns to normal. But since this happens every few minutes it is pretty annoying. Strategic map, cloth map or combat doesn't matter it happens on all three. I can post my comput
I especially like the faction power bar.
Alternatively you can just hit 'G' to show/hide hexes.
Like most everybody on here, I agree that spamming cities is bad for the game overall. It makes micromanagement harder if you do it (you have to do it if your enemies do it) and it makes the game an unsightly mess. Almost everybody talked about the economic aspect of city spamming (I didn't read every single post) but there is also another aspect of city spamming. One huge reason to city spam is the fact that the more cities you have the more units you can p
Nice work. The Hiergamenon section is great. The descriptions help but what would be even nicer is to include a brief tag that tells what the tech provides so we dont have to read the full description such as: + Experienced, + Party, + Goodie Huts, + Sovereign Notable Locations Level. I realize you guys have a lot to work on but this would be great when you have some time.
I would also like to say thank you for a great game. The game seemed a little simplistic to me when I got it at first but when I got into it I saw how deep and addicting it is. I would especially commend Ironclad on how amazing the UI is. Everything is at your fingertips. Everything has a tooltip that explains exactly what you need to know. The game doesn't make you click on something unless you absolutely need to. They use things like colors to convey certain information on the UI. Every tim
I will make a separate bug & suggestion thread for myself but I wanted to make a thread about this separately because I think it's important. A lot of people are complaining about the lack of variety of spells and I agree. Many of the spells are identical but just the corresponding version of that spellbook. I mean that's understandable and necessary to a degree but spells need to be more varied in effect. Let's say maybe the earth version of a direct damage spell should be superior to th
I also have this same question. The thing is I don't want to be spoiled by the game or by the book. I'd like to read the book / play the game in the correct timeline. Which order of reading / playing should I follow if I don't want to be spoiled?
So what's the timeline of the story between the game's campaign mode, the book and the bonus campaign for the book buyers that will be released later? Game -> book -> bonus or
I was wondering the details of the dynasty and succession system too. My gut tells me it's quite basic right now but they will develop it more in patches/updates.
I love AARs. Good report. A question: why are there two of the same technologies to be unlocked in some cases (Two War Hammers for example in the screenshots)? I assume they are different somehow but how?
I can't claim to be a full expert on it but here's how it basically works: All of the time consuming materials get sent out to manufacturing weeks, months in advance. That's one reason why modern manuals suck so bad (and Elemental's manual is going to suck out of the box, sorry I wish it wasn't so but it's already outdated based on ideas from my friends online and such). The manual was sent out back before Beta 3.
I was actually quite curious about publishing as well. When there is only like one week (and still more tweaking to go according to yesterday's post), how is it possible to burn, package, ship in such a short period of time?
Yes, I get the DivX error too most of the times. Being able to Alt+Tab is pretty big for me especially for turn-based games. The released game will support that right? Or is it one of those things that will be "not recommended"?
Vasari Reintegration is one example. The other races have one or two of these techs too. You guys are right. The first level unlocks the ability and the second level improves it. Reintegration is 16 HP/sec at 1st and 24 HP/sec at 2nd. Unfortunately, the info card doesn't mention this. Anyway, mystery solved.
I noticed that some research have multiple levels even though it only unlocks something. What's the point of this? It seems pointless to me. I am not talking about the case where the first level is prerequisite for something else. Maybe I am missing something.
Hmm I see. Yeah I checked the patch log and see the nerf. I can tell you that they nerfed it too much. I was collecting more diplomacy points than the AIs most of the game and once I researched the three relationship bonus techs it was no contest. I won the game (even my team was losing militarily) with almost 100 points difference with the next highest points. Maybe the AIs need to be taught they need to research relationship bonus techs as soon as they can when diplomatic victory is enabled
More questions: 1) I tried a couple of games with diplomatic victory enabled (3v3 - I and 2 Normal AIs vs 3 Hard AIs) but teams not locked. I played TEC in both games. It seems to me that I acquire diplomatic points much faster (2x) than the AIs. Why? Is it because I was TEC (there were other TECs too but they were acquiring points much slower than me) or is it because I am human? 2) I still don't get the pirates. In my last game, even though there was a higher
I was curious if anyone knew if there was a any way to change our pre-order from standard download only to limited edition if I paid the difference. I may end up buying a second copy, but I just thought I'd ask if this was possible since it's a pre-order and the game isn't out yet.
I'd like to know this as well. I might also "upgrade" if the difference between download-only and limited isn't huge. Nevermi
Hmm another fan of Warrax the Chaos Warrior. I thought I was the only one. :)
What is the definition of defeat? The defeated AIs in my game still had their home planet and some ships and they were collecting resources. Do the AIs resign? Yeah I figured I would have to "upgrade" to multiplayer soon. In fact I did play my first online game with some newbies like me last night. I'll probably hit the Ironclad online a lot more from now on.
A couple more questions: 1) What is the highest level that AI doesn't cheat (not in terms of fog of war but in terms of resources etc.)? I've been playing on normal. Thinking of upping the level a bit. 2) In my last two games, the TEC and Vasari AIs always seem to be defeated in the middle of the game without any apparent reason. I am assuming the Advent AIs are pushing their culture and it's a cultural defeat. Is that the case and why don't the T
