The announcement specifically refers to a " custom 64-bit multicore engine called Iron Engine 3". Whether it's in any way related to the Ashes engine, no idea.
All the suggestions here are totally right from my PoV. But unfortunately, the fuel mechanics is part of the game core (design-wide). I mean, the campaign structure and pace depends on it and any changes will require a massive campaign overhaul. Plus, SC:O is a casual games, and casual games are renowned to be obsessively soft and kind to players. How would you explain running out of fuel to that guy who has lost a lander on Venu
I agree that it would be nice to have a unified / universal way to "pause" the action. It seems that with an XBox 360 controller, the "Y" button seems to suffice "most" of the time. Where are you having issues pausing? Are you using a controller for your primary input?
They might be referring to things like on planets, escape stop beings "pause / open menu" and becomes "leave planet". It's quite aggr

Well, except of course you can just skip through the fanfic. I stopped refueling elsewhere altogether once I figured out it wasn't game over when you ran out. The couple seconds to skip that dialog is just so much faster than any return trip for fuel, and it puts me right next to Earth for crew. Positives all around.

Sounds like somebody didn't play original Elemental. But to address your concerns no, sounds like you know what's there, don't like it, and are stuck with giving up on it or waiting for updates that may or may not help.
I guess neither of you have figured out yet where you can get free fuel ...
If I happen to be in such a system already, great, free fuel, but cluttering up my bookmarks and taking side trips for fuel isn't much fun.

Just a dump of notes I jotted down while playing earlier, not in any particular order. Every dialog exchange ends with a "goodbye" option, then is followed by an additional "Close Communication" prompt. I'm done, don't make me click twice to close. Further on that, the lack of a shortcut to exit an exchange is annoying. Don't make me back through multiple levels of the dialog tree to exit, when I'm done I'm done, let me cut it short. Further furthe

I assume so, never played it before but I've seen an "anti gravity" module for the lander that says something about jumping. Haven't used it yet but would seem to be the case.
Why can't an army just reverse direction without having to rotate? I know this is a bit off topic, but since it has been brought up, Please stop the rotate. Thank you.
The rotating alone wouldn't be quite so bad if they army didn't prioritize staying in formation while it turns. Not only can you not effectively back away from an orbital, the rotation as a group tends to actual drive the rear of your army fu
Adding to an army is a really nice way of managing your front lines whilst still being able to micro and building what each army needs over just an overall unit range.
That's the goal, yes. If you find it convenient as it is to actually accomplish this well, congratulations. I certainly can't.

This is pretty light on the insults overall and sure, it'd be nice if people could be polite with their feedback, but it seems like someone who wants to enjoy th

1) This is just bit of inconvenient UI as far as I can tell. The only way to see what's queued is in the list of units in the army, the icon will get a +n indicating the number of units queued for it. 2) No idea, but I've definitely seen odd behavior with the queuing, I can never quite tell what's happening there. This whole feature is a bit disappointing. The updates for instant arrival are great in theory, but I've never found it evenly s

I do hope you guys don't over commit to the campaign. It's not that it couldn't use improvement, but rather that I think I've played a lot of Stardock games, and while you guys set up some great environments and lore, I've not seen anything supporting a story based campaign being one of your strong points. I'd say it's absolutely worth polishing out the annoying bits of the campaign (intrusive dialog pop ups, irritating camera hijacking), but I worr

I worked with Mike Marr who designed FA and he is the one who brought good UI to SupCom (which he also brought to Demigod). Sins had an unusually good UI out of the gate which has only gotten better over time.
My best point of reference for good UI is Planetar
