Maybe a game mode where the star systems would be more realistic. (with planets in realistic positions and less total planets per system) To make up for "smaller" star systems, there would be more of them in the galaxy.

I'd like gravity wells to be somewhat larger, and would also like it if ships couldn't warp right through them (I like the word warp ) I actually watched a colony frigate go to the edge of a gravity well, go into warp, then fly right through the gravity well's planet on its way to the neighboring planet.
troop ships in a fleet do pool their soldiers and attack all at once
the patch is the main galciv2 file, the slightly older one has been replaced by the newer version oh also if you need to patch to the most recent version it will show your current version and then the latest version next to that, and an update button
you are supposed to see planets on the minimap and which are colonzable after researching that one tech that comes before sensors.... stellar mapping or something
the first thing I haven't noticed, but for the second thing, you are supposed to see stars on the minimap. also, I think seeing borders on the minimap was on purpose so you wouldn't have to explore the entire map to know everyone's borders
interesting, but I believe dyson spheres are set up to collect all the solar energy around the star (qualifying the civilisation as a type II, which the civilisations are a later form of so I suppose it could be integrated)), not for living on especially with them being no more than one meter thick
