I'd seriously considered enlisting until I blew my knee out in college. Matter of fact, I was already signed up for my first Military Science courses the following semester (blew my knee out in November of my Freshman year). Needless to say, I was disqualified (major surgury w/ narcotics and arthritis in the knee) because of that. Now, it's a good thing I was disqualified then, 'cause I'd be out now (severe arthritis, fibromyalgia, bad back, and several other things).
What's funny, is I've been through that intersection a number of times. Even at the best of times, with a real map, it's still no fun. Glad I'm not the only one that's had difficulty navigating through that particular intersection.

We had several news stations here in VA do a 30 second blurb during the 6 PM and 11 PM news shows. That was it. I'm guessing that it has a lot to do with the fact that there are fewer survivors left (and fewer from that age, period) that it's not of as much wide spread interest. Another thought that popped into my head - you see more news on the 5 year mark, than on the 1 year mark nowadays. So, expect to see some more hype in 2011. :P

I don't see a college education wasted on motherhood. Raising children is more than just babysitting. It involves education (even if you don't homeschool), discipline, entertainment and many other factors that can use that college education as a stimulus/inspiration.
