This was about 6-8 months ago, on a DL game, and it said something about the machine number/code or something. I am trying to remember from memory. Unfortunately my games last months, usually.

Once upon a time there was a player. His name was Fixer. Say hello, Fixer. One day, Fixer installed Galactic Civilizations II on his desktop and laptop. But, one day disaster struck! The desktop died a horrible death while Fixer was playing a large Metaverse game he had be

No response on what I should do about this? I didn't get to play much this last weekend but the ships are still in orbit around the planets. Thankfully they are still races that exist so I am hoping that when I destroy those races the ships will leave orbit.

I am presently playing a game in which I am utilizing culture to flip worlds to my favor. The problem I am having is that sometimes, when a world is converted, there are still defenders in orbit around the planet. The planet is mine, but the starships are just sitting there in orbit. I can see them on the bottom of the main screen and when I go through the planet-build ship option. I believe this qualifies as a bug.

If you are looking for basic strategy assistance I can only share what I usually do in my startup phase. 1) Economy Screen: Set production to 100%. Set tax rate low enough to get 100% approval (and keep it at one less than a number divisible by 5. For some reason the actual percentage has relevance). The production is necessary to get you as much producing as much as you can as quick as you can. The 100% approval is to get your population growing ASAP. Do not worry about being negative

I made it a point (before I realized there were metaverse games) of getting each type of victory just to see the ending movie back in GalCiv1. I prefer conquest victory. Makes the game longest (and scores the highest points, incidently).

I have only completed four games. I always play gigantic universes. With those four games I am still close to 100k points because I always go for military victory and disable the others. Of course, with my schedule, it takes me a month or so to finish a game. I don't play more than 2 hours every other day. Some of you, I swear, must play 6-12 hours a day continuously.

Another nice thing about the cargo-hull scout ships is, in a pinch, you can 'upgrade' them into colony ships when they are sitting next to a distant PQ 20+ world and colonize it with one million colonists.

How do you tell if enemy spies are on your planets? You receive a notification immediately whenever this happens. Actually, I have seen them on the espionage screen BEFORE I get the popup in my next turn. I have actually neutralized spies before I was warned about them.

I downloaded the latest version and when I tried to continue with the campaign (Something about the Korx. I just retook Dirthir in the last session to send a message or something.) but instead of being able to continue I get an error message in Windows and GalCivII:DA tells me the mission objectives are to destroy everyone and show no other players. The game doesn't crash, and I haven't tried to actually play through it, but I recognize it was NOT doing what it was supposed to and am no

I like Eyes of the Universe for the massive bonus to sensor range. I build one cargo hull with big engines and enough range and the remainder sensors and I just park it somewhere on sentry and wait until it notices something. (I usually play gigantic maps and don't watch everywhere.)

As long as they are doing something. I know the Dread Lords do not operate by the same game mechanics as all the other races so I want to make CERTAIN that the spying I am doing works like it does with everyone else and those spies are not just twiddling their thumbs hanging out in the Dread Lords bases.

I was playing through campaign (slowly) and I am at the point where I have a spy on every tile of each of the dread lords' planets and I was wondering if I am completely wasting my time with them. If I am stopping them from producing ships, good. If not, then those agents are likely a waste. If I can steal technologies, great! I haven't yet and if I cannot (due to a game restriction) then the agents are likely a waste. I have the highest spy level on them and have nothing t

I had forgotten about those as well. I suppose the mechanics are there (do manufacturing multiplier tiles multiply manufacturing capitals' output?) and it could be implemented then. Well, my argument against econ tiles has been defused. Good luck with the programmers. (And if you can find out about that manufacturing capital question of mine I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Because production tiles only boost actual production, not boosts of boosts. They do not (I believe) simply multiply whatever structure is placed upon them. If a structure provides X production, it would be multiplied by the tile. If a structure provides a % bonus to production, it would NOT be multiplied by the tile. You follow?

I encounter the same situation as Iztok. By lategame I usually have money coming out of my eyeballs and just purchase upgrades and ships like they are candy when I want them. A planetary tile (if I understand correctly) can improve the numeric output of a given building it is suitable for (a factory producing 8 on a 200% bonus tile produces 24 manufacturing units) but placing a percentage bonus building (like a manufacturing capital or market) does not utilize that tile's special qualit

Under the current options (None, Fleet, Attack) how about adding a few more? Route Sends the ship to another waypoint. This works well when you are trying to send warfleets around a nearly-hostile race so as not to tick them off. Upgrade Prompts the user to upgrade when sent to this waypoint This might not get used as often but when you have an aging cruiser near hostile territory and want to upgrade it you c

Frogboy, your patience is admirable. I would enjoy multiplayer but not at the expense of other game features. I remember a game I used to play with my grandfather called VGA planets. Each 'race' was given a turn file and could use it to play their turn and give orders (unlike the current incarnation where you can see your ships move) and those turn files were returned to the host to be processed. I would like to see a similar feature but I don't believe it would be GalCiv in such a fo

I finally got someone to attack them and then refused to honor the alliance. My transports are on their way since you cannot seem to take out minor races via influence. My defense vessels (around each planet) are Beam 206, Shield 65, Anti-Missile 73, Armor 48, 75hp. Their biggest was a Beam 6. I am pretty safe.

In terms of money I am doing quite well for myself without anything else. To make a long story short I am definitely going to win the game short of some massive plague that affects all my worlds at once. I am only at 19% victory (I have it set to only be a conquest victory) but wanted to get this minor race out of the way. I guess I do not have to to win but it's the principle of the thing, you know? My appreciation for the input. Since I am stuck with them I might as well make lots o

Ok, so I allied with a nearby minor race a while back and now cannot un-ally with them. They have been very well-behaved but their class 21 planet sitting in the middle of my very clean portion of the galaxy looks very delicious. I keep trying to get someone to declare war on them so they can ask me to go to war with them and I can say no to break the alliance but no one else will attack them because my military rating is 418 (compared to the next highest of 187) and I think they are a bit intim
